4 Reasons To Have Hairspirations

smartistabeautyWhat exactly are hairspirations? They are hair inspirations of your favorite women and men to follow because of their hair tips, hair styles, and of course their hair. You may call them your hair idols or hair gurus, but if you follow them or get updates on blogs they have posted then they definitely have something to offer to you and your own hair journey.

Whether you’re searching for advice on transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair, tips on keeping your hair moisturized and sealed, how to retain length, or simply how to define those stubborn curls of yours, there are many reasons why everyone should have hairspirations:

Check out their hair journey

Have you heard of, “You see my glory, but you don’t know my story.” You will hear that a lot at church, but this can be applied to hair gurus and your favorite hairspirations.

There is nothing like seeing bountiful and healthy curls, then checking out that person’s hair journey, learning about their story, the good the bad and the ugly. This can help bring you insights into experiences that you may face on your own journey, or help you to prepare for or avoid challenging situations.

To find your hair twin

A hair sibling is one who has the same curl pattern, texture, density, and over all look that is similar to your own hair.

If you are not sure about how to care for your own hair and not sure where to look for inspiration it helps to find that girl that has a similar hair pattern to yours.

Throughout your healthy hair journey, you may need some help. Once you find your hair sibling, you will be able to try the same regimen, products, and styles to get a feel of how to care for your own hair until you develop a rhythm of your own.

I know when I first started on my natural hair journey, I would check out Instagram to find that perfect curlfriend to learn from so I could get helpful advice for my own coils and kinks. Once I did, I was able to learn from her hair regimen and journey and create the perfect regimen to maintain my own hair.

Useful information and methods

Although the same information about moisture, sealing, and other methods are floating from different sources and platforms, there are a variety of methods you can use to properly care for your natural hair.

There are women using YouTube, Blogs, and Instagram to help out others by providing useful tips and information on how to achieve and maintain healthy hair. They also show  how to get the most perfect styles for them, and how to create their own products with healthy and beneficial ingredients. Even though I have my own regimen, products, and styles down, I still check out my hairspirations for helpful information.

To keep you inspired

Most of all, you should have hairspirations to keep you inspired to continue on your own healthy hair journey. When I look at a picture of a naturalista with beautiful and bountiful hair, I smile.

I believe that with my healthy hair practices, my hair will reach a certain volume and length one day. I would even get so carried away, looking at all the different kinds of curls, coils, and kinks to the point where I would catch myself staring too long at the pictures.

Having hairspirations are not about longing for another head of hair or being envious about her hair. This is about getting inspirarion to continue to stay on your healthy hair journey and to love your hair.
