Ah ha! So clearly the last lot of pics that Jada graced us with was definitely a wig(affiliate link) and not a new haircut! I have to say I suspected as much and judging by the comments on that post, some of you thought so too. Wigs(affiliate link) are a great way to change up your look every now and again and but I’m happy to see that her gorgeous length remains intact.
Anyhoo, Ms Pinkett Smith came out on Facebook yesterday (as is her way) in vehement support of the Carol’s Daughter company. The company which has been undergoing a shall we say ‘restructure’ with the closure(affiliate link) of most of it’s retail stores found itself having to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Although there have been speculation as to the reason for this course of action, Carol’s Daughter has maintained that their parent company remains in a strong financial position.
Jada showed off her natural hair, parting it strategically to dissuade the doubters (yeah, like that ever works!) and said:
I know you all often see my hair in various ways, but what you see in these pics is MY natural hair. I’ve taken care of this mane with CAROL’S DAUGHTER products for over 15 years, specifically…Lisa’s Hair Elixir. With that said, Carol’s Daughter is still going strong, despite some misleading press, so much so you can now find it in Target, on HSN, Ulta and Sephora inside JCPenny.
My hair would like to say thank you to Lisa Price of Carol’s Daughter for making products that actually nourish the scalp and hair;)
Hmmm, is it just me or does this sudden statement come off a bit like an advertisement? Maybe it’s the skeptic in me trying to see something that’s not there but you have to admit that the timing of the statement sounds a lot like damage control from the Carol’s Daughter camp.
Some people are erroneously reporting that Carol’s Daughter is going out of business which is not the case, the company is still going strong and they just want to realign their retail focus. Still after all the bad press they have been receiving lately it’s only good business sense to defend themselves. And what better than an impromptu celebrity endorsement?
Either way I hope that CD with be able to weather this storm and come out stronger on the other side and as for Jada, she’s certainly has a gorgeous head of hair!
