Head bands are one of my favorite accessories for my natural hair, they jazz up your look even on a bad day and they are a great replacement for jewelry especially if they have there own flare.
This post has 5 head bands that are my personal favorite, everything from a little flare to the very simple. The mesh detail head band pictured above is really cute, it incorporates that simple mesh in the front which is really popular now on hats and beanies, its like a 1950’s remix and I love it.
2. The winter head band
I honestly made that name up because the head band is perfect for a cold winter day when you want to add some texture to your hair but at the same time stay super warm. The model pairs the head band perfectly with an awesome sweater and leather jacket.
3. The beaded headband*
I am all for intricate details, because they add texture to the head band and really makes your hair stand out. A gorgeous fro doesn’t need much help but if you want a bit of pizazz added to your look, find a headband* that has some details on it.
I wouldn’t wear jewelry with this one, since it has so much going on already. Keeping it simple.
4. The simple head band
These are those everyday head bands that you can wear to the gym, the grocery store, or just running errands on a Saturday. They are comfortable, they keep your edges sharp and like most of the ones we have featured they keep your hair out of your face.
They come in a variety of colors but if you wear the ones that are close to your own hair color it doesn’t draw as much attention to your hair. The colored bands tend to be a favorite for the gym for some reason.
5. The center part head dress
Another personal favorite of mine, these are not quite head bands but they add some serious flare to your style. They are best worn when you hair is pulled back and with a center part. Great for dates or a simple brunch.

Hello I tried to send you a message in private but it didnt work so I had no choice but writing you here. My apologies.
My name is Shamir and I am a photographer based in Montreal. I just released my latest project which aims to showcase african women in a different light. My goal is to make not only our women but their men and brothers understand that you can rock your natural hair or braids and still be fashionable.
Thank you for your time.
