Yes, you read correctly- VO5 can cost you anywhere from $1 to $1.50. This is a super cheap conditioner, and it can be found in almost any store.
Many naturals like to stock up on this conditioner since it is so cost effective. It doesn’t have the greatest ingredients (if you’re into that), but it can do the job if necessary.
Like the Tresemme Naturals conditioner*, you can add oil to the mix for more slip and ease in detangling. This conditioner also comes with various fragrances like Strawberries & Cream, so you can pick what you like best!
Aussie Moist ($5)
Ingredients: WATER, STEARYL ALCOHOL, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, CETYL ALCOHOL, STEARAMIDOPROPYL DIMETHYLAMINE, DIMETHICONE, FRAGRANCE, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA*) SEED OIL, ECKLONIA RADIATA EXTRACT, BENZYL ALCOHOL, EDTA, METHYLCHLOROISO- THIAZOLINONE, METHYLISOTHIA- ZOLINONE, GLUTAMIC ACID.
Aussie Moist is also sold at many major retailers. This conditioner smells excellent, and it does a very good job of softening hair. It can be used as a cowash* as well as a rinse out conditioner.
The longer you leave this product on, the softer it makes hair feel. This product also makes it extremely easy to finger detangle, softening knots as soon as it’s applied.
Be wary with using this product though, because after a while it may stop working the same way for your hair (as it did for mine!)
If you are looking for effective products, don’t feel like you have to shell out all of your money to do so! There are many afforable options out there for natural hair that work fine.
With using products like these or others that may have ingredients you aren’t familiar with, remember to use a clarifying shampoo* every so often to cleanse any product build up. Your pockets (and your tresses) will definitely thank you!
