journey through hair lossHair loss is something that occurs to both men and women and it is an issue that can completely ruin a person’s self esteem. On average a person loses about 100 hairs per day and it’s not usually noticeable, but over time hair loss can become noticeable and that is when it becomes a problem.

Hair loss is most commonly due to hereditary factors or changes in hormones and testosterone that occur as a person ages, but emotional problems like severe stress or diseases like anemia can also contribute to hair loss.

Although hair loss is a problem that is most commonly associated with men, it can also happen to women and if you are someone who is suffering from this horrible self esteem crushing problem, here are some ways to replace lost hair, or prevent hair loss from happening all together.

Ways To Help Prevent Hair Loss

1. Vitamins. Certain vitamins are very helpful in preventing hair loss. One of these vitamins is vitamin c, this vitamin can be found in fruits like oranges and lemons and vegetables like green peppers. To help prevent hair loss, it is recommended that a person consumes 1,000 to 3,000 mg. per day of vitamin c.

2. Drink Plenty of Water. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day is not only good for helping prevent hair loss, but it is also good for promoting the overall health of your body.

3. Protein. Include plenty of protein in your diet. Since hair itself is made of protein, a diet that lacks protein will definitely contribute to hair loss so be sure to include meat, dairy, or plant based protein products in your everyday diet to promote hair health and growth.
