- We like bantu knot outs because you can mask the natural and relaxed hair with one consistent curl. Plus the style is super easy to pull off. Moisturize the hair, use a product with a little hold and voila!
- A good old bun is a perfect go to style for a transitioner. Keep your edges neat and tuck your relaxed ends.
- Crochet braids are a fun and trendy protective style great for transitioners who want to keep their hair protected for a little while.
- Every now and again you can flat iron* your hair which can last for at least 14 days. The key to avoiding damage is using as little heat as possible and deep condition with protein.
- Jumbo box braids are a great option for trasitioners who strong natural strands and at least 3-4 inches of growth. They can last up to eight weeks and can be a very viable option during your transition.
- Roller sets are absolutely great for blending both textures of hair. The sets look great and they last long. We know many transitioners who do this week to week for 8 months to a year.
- If you want to switch your style up, try a straw set. This sleek look blends both textures and an awesome style for a special occasion.
- Twist and curl styles are great because you can twist your natural hair and roll the relaxed ends creating a curly fro! Try it!
- Wand curls can blend textures well, however be very careful using any sort of heat tool because with two textures your hair can be considered 'fragile'
- Do not forget to accessorize. On the days when your edges will not cooperate, throw on a head band, sometimes you just have to work with your transitioning hair and not against it.
