Naomi Campbell has been in the news for her hair loss for years. She has been the butt of cruel jokes and Twitter memes but she is the fiercest supermodel alive so those things probably did not phase her one bit.
Regardless of what the internet thinks apparently, Naomi has decided to pay some attention to the areas of her scalp that has suffered the most hair loss.
She is going to do a hair transplant and the news first broke on the gossip site B.Scott. According to B.Scott, sources close to the model said that she is just about ready to do the procedure and has been wearing a headwrap on public appearances.

What is a hair transplant? It’s a procedure where thick hair from the back and sides of the scalp is re-implanted to the edges. Once healed, the new hair usually begins to sprout again in 3-6 months.

Middle-aged men have been getting the procedure forever, but it’s becoming more popular with African-American women. Now that Naomi’s about to be walking around with restored edges, we can only imagine the procedure’s popularity increasing!
We have to agree with Scott on this one. If Naomi is able to restore her edges the possibility of more black women who have suffered hair loss due to either bad hair practices or sickness will have an example of a pretty viable solution.
In the mean time, this is most definitely a reminder that we only get one scalp and one head of hair and we have to do whatever it takes to take care of it as much as we can.
