3. Protein
Like your beloved shot of espresso in the morning, no regimen is complete without protein, after all that is the primary make up of the hair strand so more of it cant hurt (provided that you are not protein sensitive of course).
Protein adds to your hair’s strength by adding layers to the strand on the outside and within the strand as well. Proteins that can penetrate the strand are called known as hydrolyzed proteins and they are typically found in some hair products like the Aphogee two step protein treatment*.
Typically if you have a lot of damage you might need a product containing hydrolyzed protein first to see if you can correct the issue. You can also add protein that does not penetrate the strands, like the kind of protein found in eggs for the week to week maintenance of your hair.
You can also layer protein when using it, so for example if your ends need more damage control than the roots of your hair, find a product you can used on your ends that is heavy in protein and use lighter protein products above your ends.
4. Diet and supplements*
This is kind of our favorite hair strengthener option because it is fool proof, especially the diet part. Eating protein, and a diet rich in vegetables and fruit is the ultimate way to strengthen the hair that is emerging from your scalp.
A vitamin rich diet is essential to hair’s strength but there are also some supplements* actually affect the strength of the hair that you grow and since it’s so difficult these days to get all you need from diet alone, wise supplementing can actually be a beneficial addition to your diet.
A popular supplement for the overall health of your hair is Biotin* but we definitely recommend researching all supplement options as much as you can. A phone call to your doctor will only add value to your decision so do not hesitate to lean on professional opinions too.
Oh and do not forget to drink plenty of water, whether you decide to supplement or not, water is life for you and your hair, drink as much as you can, it hydrates your cells and your hair from the inside out.
5. Exercise
Get your blood pumping by moving as much as you can! Yes, the quality of hair you grow depends on how great the circulation to your scalp is; regular exercise will lead to better scalp circulation and of course more hair growth.
Sometimes we are so caught up with growth aids and products when all we really need is a head band and a treadmill to get our juices going. Have fun with your work outs, get outside and play some soccer with your two year old, you will be surprised how a little bit of action can help you get to your goals faster.
In Conclusion…
I would just like to add a few other things that can help with strengthening your hair that are not part of the top five. These include, turning down the temperature when you wash or wet your hair, using products with SPF when out in the hot sun and finally preventative measures such as protective styling and trimming off split ends.
Well, that’s it all that you will need to know to give your hair immediate strength! Happy growing ladies.

I have Jerry curls(cold wave) and its actually a dying art, so its difficult to find products or even be sure i can relate your recommendations to my hair.
I don’t want to do any hot application by relaxing my hair and I am not fully ready to go all natural, that was why i chose cold waves, it just answers where I am at the moment.
Unfortunately, my hair is breaking seriously and and am at loss on how to stop it, and even grow my hair healthily for now.
Thank you for your site, great ideas often overwhelming because it makes you feel like a kid in a sweet shop, so much great stuff.
