We all have hair goals we want to achieve, but we do not always have the patience to wait it out and do what it takes to grow long, healthy hair.
If you are transitioning then you know first hand how frustrating things can get. With that said there are many reasons you should not give up because the results are very rewarding if you can get through the hard parts. This post gives you 4 reasons you should not give up during your transition:
1. If you give up you will miss out on the results
I know you hear about the benefits of being natural all the time, and you also have your own reason for wanting to grow out your relaxer, so why not work hard and see for yourself?
The first thing you have to do when things get hard is change your mindset, you will be surprised what you can achieve by just changing your thought process.
2. You will get positive results.
Post pictures of your hair goals around your room, save hair inspiration pictures on you screensaver and background, etcetera. Do what it takes to stay motivated during these tough times of transitioning. What we can say for sure is that the results will be positive so your only job is to stay grounded and motivated to get there.
3. The hard times wont last forever
Everything is temporary and the hard times of transitioning will become your past. At some point your transition will end and it will be time to move on to the next phase of things. Once you do that you won’t have time to dwell on the rough stuff.
4. Your goal of longer, healthy hair is an obtainable goal.
You have seen people do it and maybe that is what helped you to decide to transition in the first place. Healthy hair is a very attainable goal and the truth is some of us cannot get there with a relaxer regimen.
If that is you, then hold on to the fact that finally if you get through your transition you can have the healthy long hair you have always wanted.
Are you transitioning? How do you get through the tough moments?
I went to hair salon today had my hair wash and condition, then blow dry and flat iron I HATE IT!!!!
I must admit natural hair isn’t for me . I’m ready to go back to relax hair. It’s just way to much work and styling my hair. Ugh!!
I agree.
I did a big chop today but I will keep it short (no longer than 2 inches). This is my third time going natural. I relaxed it because it was SO MUCH work.
Awe please don’t give up ladies the end results will be worth the wait and effort
I like my natural I can braid it
I Love my hair.,I went all natural. Less work
I’m on a long stretch but who knows, it may turn into a transition. I’m 45 weeks post. It’s fun looking at my curlies but it’s becoming a lot of work with managing the textures.
