Do what makes you happy. Some black women will hate. But that is life.
Alexsandra Brown says
i have my days but i love my texture
Jenny JackJack says
Everyone does not want to be natural. Wear your hair however you chose to!
Semma Deezy says
I’m natural and I approve this message. ….☺ Do what is right for you and your hair….
Tiffany Roberts says
that’s my plan, i just did that big chop in december 2014, when my hair grow back the way i want it too, i’ll relaxed it again
Mahogany Love says
Whatever floats your boat.
Christy Thornton says
Never again!!!!!!!!!!
Jamila Kelly says
I’m actually considering just relaxing again. I’ve always done it but decided to stop to aim for healthier hair about seven months ago and can’t deal with my natural texture. Don’t wanna deal with it either, it’s pRobably hurting me more then helping me because this texture is new to me and I don’t have the time or patience or want to learn how to manage it. blow outs are my new best friend :p
whatever your reason, go you ! This goes for any woman or man. Don’t let the stigma that is “team natural” keep you from doing whatever you wanna do with your hair 🙂
Marilyn Williams says
I’m starting to feel the same way, it’s been 2 years now natural and I’m ready to throw in the towel.
Lucie Jorite says
Feeling the same. Im tired of my natural hair
Gladiola Ricola says
I ain’t got that relaxer money. And im enjoying a burn free scalp lol
Cam'el Giftedhands Jones says
Once u use CRACK, u can’t come BACK!!!!! HAHAHA (just playing)
Shaynah Napier says
I love being natural women will choice what they want but why work so hard to be who you truly are because the other way is easier. My hair has been relaxed all my life and at time I love it but I’ve lost a lot of hair in my younger years. Being natural takes strength courage and just accepting what you were born with. I love my hair, I was done hiding it. #ButThatsJustMeIguess
Lakiasha Wilson says
Sure does take courage
Nebronna Adams says
Idk how much of a journey it is. I mean you just relax it.
Melissa Sallis Nesmith says
We as black women have so many thing that divides us you can’t wear a wig or a weave that means you’re trying to be something your not but its ok to wear box braids kinky twist Marley hair crochet in???? It’s still not “your on hair” if you go back to relaxed hair you “a quitter
Maame Afia Sika-Doe says
Box braids n all da t u.mentioned compliment us as black women, we created em,we were em, it makes us unique as opposed to relaxed hair, weaves n the extras which gives us the European, whitish kinda look…I think dats the diffss…
Stacy-Ann Shreeves says
Hair is hair.. You wear it the way you want.. Kinky, straight, relaxed, weave, extentions, wigs, whatever!! We can wear it all and still make look good. Enough of this nonsense please
Candace UniqulyMe Nelson says
I wear my hair 100% natural. Most days it’s just an Afro sometimes its a twist out. I love my tight frizzy little afro but it’s not for everybody. Recently I’ve been thinking about flat ironing it too because I cant process the thought of not being able to wear my kinky hair if I get a relaxer.
Candace UniqulyMe Nelson says
Do you, hair is hair as long as you’re happy with it, I cant see a problem.
Leah Oubre says
True dat. I love you all!!! I’m natural but would be a bold faced liar if I pretended that at least 3 times a year! It is what it is!
Jocelind Belmar says
As long as it’s healthy…I have no qualms
Janissa Bido says
Agree with you, when I went natural was because I already had a Mohawk and I had my kids back to back and didn’t want to put chemicals in my head while being pregnant but it’s just hair who cares,I may lock it after this I mean don’t people get tired of the same thing? Hair would always be just that “Hair”
Shana Seigler says
No judgment, just shocked. She was fully natural already. I could easily see this happening with someone who is transitioning, which is what I’m doing. I really don’t see myself going back though.
Vedejah Scroggins says
its very pretty i like it
Alikka Tag says
Perhaps consider a texturizer? Ive heard it can be gentler
Taylor Elonne Rose says
It’s a relaxer. You just don’t leave it on as long.
Elise Cromwell says
Yea but when you don’t leave it on as long, your hair doesn’t completely stay bone straight. I was considering either relaxing or texturizing but I change my hairstyles up too much and I would have to keep doing it over and over again. I decided instead to shave a good amount off and my wash time has been cut down by a lot. And I don’t go to the gym looking crazy. Best decision I’ve ever made
Taylor Elonne Rose says
After actually learning the science of a relaxer and learning how it relaxes your hair I just could never do it again it’s not at all healthy. But if someone else wants to do it that’s on them I won’t judge.
Tiffany BlackBunnie Culler says
I honestly can say I’m stuck between keeping my natural, cutting it or relaxing it. I’m tired of everything honestly. I’m to the point where I just want to go to the barber shop every week and get it cut
Candace UniqulyMe Nelson says
I feel you i LOVE my hair but dammit sometimes i just want to ✂️✂️
Erica Nicole says
Haha I feel you!! I want to just chop it off and go Halle but then I’ll flat iron it and be like naw! Smh ughh
Cammy Randolph says
Yes I told my husband if I stay natural I’m going to cut it
Just easier for me
Nikki Nicole says
I am also thinking about relaxing, it a hassle dealing with my texture.
Sumy Wiels says
Relaxing my hair after being natural for almost a year, was definitly the best thing I’ve ever done! I’m never ever going back natural.
Tameka J. Abram says
After 2 years of being perm free, I had to go back relaxed last week. I sweat a lot, and was Frustrated of my press & curls only lasting 5 hours. I’m so happy with my perm. My hair is so much more manageable!!! I will definitely go natural again with my next pregnancy!
Jeanette Allison says
I’m straight on that. Almost five years with no relaxer. Tempting, but a no for me. I liked her hair before. Mine is extremely thick and curly.
Lakiasha Wilson says
I learned to have patience and love for the texture that grows from my roots. I still like the way it looks straightened but the newfound love makes me smile from the inside out. Everyone should at least experience it and understand what is keeping them from loving their natural texture too.
Theresa Marie Bryant says
I’ve flip flopped between natural and relaxed hair a few times and I find that though my natural hair takes more effort it is so much more fascinating and interesting and I usually miss it.
Joycelyn Cannon says
I love being natural and my hair is the healthiest and longest it has ever been in all my years of being relaxed. After going through a big chop and learning about natural hair care and developing a good regimen, I could never go back to that. I like the versatility and ease of care since I exercise and sweat a lot.
Michelle Pulliam says
It’s about healthy hair, be it relaxed or natural.
Britt'Lee Jordan says
Once I hit the 3 year mark ima relax
Dina Fagan says
So many natural returning to relaxers hmmm natural hair Is not easy either
Adrienne Johnson says
Do what makes you happy! Beautiful either way
Leticia 'Choc' Joshua says
I relax my hair once a year usually in the summertime. …ppl should do what they want & be happy
Marjorie Brown says
The young lady in the second video where she straightens her hair without chemicals is so creative.
Rosalind Hill Holloway says
I don’t understand why people are so against a relaxer but will go and throw some color/dye on their hair with the quickness and still claim to be “Natural”…….. that’s a chemical too BooBoo✌
Erica Princess Brown says
The same goes for fake nails and makeup also….. but females still call themselves “Natural”
Gracie Crybaby Hart says
But the hair texture is still their natural texture. Unless of course you fried it lol.
Tina Dina says
Not true. Color does not permanently alter the texture of your. And before anyone comes for me my color is spray color — washes out with tap water 🙂
Tina Dina says
It’s always the low self-esteemed, permed ppl trying to tell naturals they are not natural smh #wontwork
I Liek Tacos says
Nobody is 100% natural lmfao. Deodorant is a chemical. Do u walk around smelling like booty stank?
Semma Deezy says
I use Henna….It’s color, it’s natural. …
Alexis Green says
As long as you keep it healthy
Argestine Warren says
Thank you ladies, it’s your hair, your glory, therefore, wear your hair to please you! I’ve been straight comb, perm, Afro , perm, natural and now I’m perm because it’s what I want!
Wore natural for 11 years and had breakage!!!
Danielle GodsgifttoEarth Statom says
I feel like this every time I take my braids down lol
Mimi Janvier says
I don’t even know why there is post about things like this.
People can do what the hell they want with their hair.
Kim Beckford says
To each her own. If you want natural, go natural. If you want to relax–go for it. Your hair, your money, your time. The only thing that is concerning is if you have distain for kinky hair or conversely feel love only for straightened hair. Otherwise, you do you!
Tiff Marie says
For the past few days I been thinking abt going back relaxed cuz i hate tangles and knots…. As of June I will be 3yrs post BC with medium length thick, coarse naps. I want my hair manageable could someone please explain what texlaxed is?
Jamillah Clark says
Your hair can be healthy relaxed too. Nothing wrong with wigs or weaves! As long as u take care of your hair!! Don’t leave it in a weave or hiding under a wig for 10+ years! Its not good for your hair. It needs to breathe! I chose to go natural because my hair is beautiful it doesn’t need a relaxer I can achieve the same goal with a blowout and flat iron. To each is own. Which ever way you choose just take care if your hair. Do what makes you happy!
Sarah Green says
Do you. I have a prob with people doing it cause they HATE their hair…. But that me and my op doesn’t matter in nobodies life but my own. Do what you want with UR HAIR. Period.
Chermine Belhomme says
Her hair looks great relaxed as well much stretched
Karemma Morris says
After being relaxed all my life i went natural. I was natural for a year and out of no where I just was sick of it and I relaxed it and my hair started falling out, the chemical didn’t take well in my hair. I chopped it all off and I’ve been natural for 2 months now. I love my natural curls and I love a good relaxer too. It’s your hair you do what you want with it no matter what anyone says. Natural isn’t for everyone as well as relaxers, weave, or braids. Either way it’s all about how you take care of your hair.
Tianna Jarrett-Williams says
It’s their hair!!!! So what.
Monica Cameron says
I’m done with relaxer. It have chemical in there that causes cancer. Ever wonder why it smells so strong when you smell it, imagining putting that on your hair and it will get in your scalp. It gets through your pores. I love being natural because it is who God made me to be.
Asha Jamia says
I mean, it’s not my head. To each it’s own. Some just prefer it straight. I love how some of us went natural and got brand new. Tired of people judging our natural hair, now we judge their relaxed hair.
Delena Lewis says
I went natural foods years relaxed my hair, when remember why I went natural. Cut my hair and natural again.
Ronnie Dew says
Relaxer = Fibroids per Hidden Colors 3
….. so many of my Black Female friends missing their uterus
Trina Smith says
Uh oh time for the natural hair police.
Tamara Douglas-Osbourne says
Im thinking of going to the relaxed look myself But honestly ppl say that perm breaks ur hair but if u put da same prep in natural hair into relaxed hair i doubt it can damage as ppl say.
Marilyn Williams says
Her hair was beautiful when natural, but it’s beautiful permed too!!
Apreia Lucas says
I always say stay natural. Don’t be lazy, learn how to deal with and love your own hair. I see too many people with thin edges and strands when they use perms. When you’re 50 and having a hard time with bald patches and other things you’ll understand. All those chemicals take their toll over time. (Been on both sides) natural is tough until you learn your hair. Then it’s a breeze
Rose Waters says
No way to relaxers I don’t miss the chemical burns and scabs
I love my natural hair yes it’s challenging at times but its cool to see your hair transverse from straight hair to curls and it makes me feel good
Shay Monet McCloud says
I wanted to be natural, but I couldn’t deal with my lose natural hair, so I decided on locs, I’m very happy that I did. But I guess in west you Carl a simi natural because I colored my hair. But I’m happy with what I decided to do, my locs make me feel beautiful and like I’m who I really am. So do what’s best for you.
Gayle Davidson says
all those chemicals going into your scalp
Charles Zeno says
Lol education is everything when u know better u do better
Lisa Fisher says
I’m thinking about going back to a perm being natural is not easy
Lakisha Barnett says
Hey I prefer relaxed. Getting ready to in a couple of weeks.
Stephanie Walker says
I’m just trying to get my hair to retain some amount of moisture.
Leta Tyrell says
Never again!! Loving learning to love me exactly how he made me. I’m so done trying to look like how other people expect me to look or like other people. If GOD wanted my hair to grow that way he would’ve made it like that. Someone once said our hair grows upward to heaven. I like that. Going natural for me, was so much more than about my hair!
Rose Atkinson says
I won’t ever relax again but do you boo
Alisson Hislop says
Im sorry but !!!relaxing is a life saver for my thick corse hair i have single braids in for up to a year at a time an inbetween having braids redone i have to relax my thick afro just to get some softness back with a good trim an my hair has grown past my shoulders now ..so for me relaxing is something that helps my hair not for it to be straight but to be manageable
Alisson Hislop says
Natural is good if u have soft mixed race afro hair not for me with very corse carribean hair where u can even get a comb through it very hard to keep as it knots up an breaks ..if u relax in moderation an find the right products an treatments your hair will be fine ..well for me anyway as everyones hair is different x
Michelle Nicole Charley says
I loved my relaxed hair but I also have fallen in love with my curly….. The only middle ground I found was Brazilian blowouts. I helps manage my curly texture and also for a few weeks out of the year I have bone straight hair till its wash day.
Charlene Cha LaBranche says
I’m natural but I think of going back to relaxing but idk but who cares do what you like w your hair!
Shareta Caldwell-Rippatoe says
Wear your hair how you want to. It is so not that serious. My hair is now natural, do I care how the next sistah is rockin’ hers, nope! Do what works for you!
Kimberly Moore says
I am glad she is doing this if it makes her happy. I have been between naturals and relaxers long before being natural was the it thing. Black hair is so beautiful in all its forms and textures. Natural hair can also be unhealthy if not maintained properly. I applaud that she is making this decision based on her preference and not what the trend is.
Janissa Bido says
Loved it
Gina Pompei says
Black ladies I love your natural looks whatever makes you happy but just know your hair is rad
Tina Dina says
Poor message unliking page, was somewhat fun for a moment.
Teea Tenacity Etienne says
It took courage to go natural and courage to relax her hair. I love team natural but cannot condone people who use team natural as a catalyst to bully others. All experiences with our hair is valid and helpful in our journey learning about our selves. It had taken this amount of time to realise that we have the option to be natural…..accept the experiences that others choose to share….it might help you. #freedomofchoice
Brittany Richardson says
The only reason I would ever consider going back to relaxer is because my natural hair doesnt seem to grow much. Its been almost a year since i did the big chop and it only grew a little. At least when i had the perm it was growing quick for some reason….
