3. Therapro Mediceuticals Solv-X Oil Scalp and Hair Treatment Shampoo – Say that four times fast! Believe it or not, some women suffer from excessive oil or excessive build up that can happen due to a fungal infection or some people just naturally have oily scalps.
This shampoo is more a preventative method, preventing excess oil, and excessive buildup if you happen to have that problem. Honestly it has its merits when you look at the reviews, but we would be remiss if were not to admit that the reviews are mixed.
This is the type of product you need to have for those quick fixes, if you get the drift.
4. Coconut Oil – It never fails, every ailment scalp or hair related problem will often have coconut oil on the list as a remedy. It is very difficult to talk about coconut oil* as a natural alternative in an unbiased tone, because it really is so very amazing. Honestly if you if there’s a product you should purchase anyway for your HHJ it should definitely be coconut oil!
With regards to fungus, coconut oil promotes scalp health, helps with ring worm and scalp psoriasis, scalp itchiness and the list goes on and on. You can find coconut oil at many grocery stores, online or in a Vitamin Shoppe near you.
5. Tea Tree Oil – Yet another natural solution to scalp fungus and by far the most common oil used to prevent bacteria or any kind of scalp infections.
Tea tree oil* is great for things like, dandruff and head lice, unclogging hair follicles and really getting to the root of bacterial infections on the scalp.
You will notice many of our shampoo and conditioner concoctions that brag about being healing will almost always have tea tree oil* high on the ingredient list. With that said why not go straight to the good stuff, get this oil and use it often.
6. Neem Oil – If you allow it, we swear neem oil* can end world hunger, it is just that good! If you practice Ayurveda then chances are you have heard about neem oil and all its benefits.
However even if you do not practice Ayurveda, neem oil* has an amazing reputation when it comes to ridding your scalp of psoriasis, eczema, head lice, scalp fungal infections and a laundry list of health benefits too extensive to list here.
In conclusion…
Here is a suggestion, if you want to create an anti fungal power ranger type product that is all natural, mix coconut oil*, tea tree* oil and neem oil together, add it to an applicator bottle* for a powerful anti-fungal natural remedy.
Other than that you have a variety of ready made options at your disposal, it really just depends on your needs and what you are willing to try. Don’t forget to see a dermatologist or doctor if you are not sure about any of the symptoms you might be experiencing.

Shea Moisture’s African Black Soap products for itchy, dry scalp is the only thing that’s worked for me thus far. I used T/gel years ago but the ‘clean’ feeling would only last a day or so.

I love t gel it gets and keeps the dandruff away but it knots my hair!! Is there anything I could mix with it to stop this problem
The Real Person!
I wouldn’t suggest adding anything to it as it could stop it from being as effective but perhaps follow up with a very moisturizing DC. Also perhaps you could wash your scalp while your hair is in twists to prevent the knotting from happening in the first place.
