Well I thought this was a pretty interesting video, Dephne Madyara has a very distinct plan on how she achieved 20 inches of growth for her 4C natural hair. Before we get into what she did, lets be very clear that her hair has been flat ironed in the video with bantu knots applied to give her the style pictured.
We loved her recipe for long hair and thought it was similar to alot of women with her hair type with a few additives that she was very honest about. Dephne described 4 basic steps
She prayed – If you believe in the power of prayer then this step is probably not that strange. God beckons us to come to him for all our needs and Dephne did just that. We loved her faith and how honest she was about it, it was pretty awesome to hear her mention that as a viable first step.
Consistent Routine – Shampooing her hair every 3-4 weeks, conditioning it, and sealing with a natural oil, seems easy enough? Our hair is a very simple fiber so it doesn’t need much to be maintained when you finally’get’ it.
The key to great growth is consistency and consistency with the right regimen. Once you figure out what that is then you have no reason to try anything else, for Dephne shampooing every month and spraying her hair with water every night worked. What works for you?
Protective styling – She does African threading of course in her country they call it something else, but if you subscribe to her channel you will see her use yarn to wrap her hair and tuck the ends in as a protective style. This way her strands are preserved and she doesn’t have to fuss with it much day to day.
Eating healthy and supplementation – Good food feeds your hair so this one is a no brainer, but when you add supplementation to the mix it helps to speed things along by giving you exactly what your need.
Well there you have it, a three year plan that worked for one woman, if anything it shows us that it can work!
what do u people use
It’s genetic or help with vitamins. My hair grows fast and I just don’t touch it, workout out and drink lots of water.
It is not all genetics! If it is for you then Goody Gumdrops for you!
I can’t even lie, when I watched her video on how she grew her hair so fast and she said “I prayed” I nearly X’d the box and added her name to my mental black list but she then went on to talk about her regimen.
Must be nice
What does 4c mean?
hair type @ Lauren Lusco. 🙂
sorry i have watched videos from her ..cause on this one she put a disclaimer about her hair texture saying on this particular pic her hair has been straightened etc.. but on other videos her hair doesn’t look that kinky .. …i am a 4 c and her hair is nothing close like mine sorry she is definitely a 3 something
Her hair is definitely not 3 something. Some parts are 4b and others 4c. I’ve seen it in different states. She flat irons most of the time
prayer works
not 4c at all….
I think 4c grows faster on a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and leaving it alone.
Really
I can’t with these posts. Don’t believe the hype!
She is a 4c. In her latest video she even shows her hair in its wet and shrunken state- no curl pattern. In the other videos she’s wearing a very good wig which is of a looser texture. So, yes people, she is a 4c.
I have the same goal but a little longer…22-28 inches in 3 yrs…so far its working….the longer it gets the more time it takes…I have done many months of research and found products that work for me….I have found different regimen so if u believe it can be achieved….
Yes, Prayer does work!!
Isn’t that average?
Yes it is average.
I saw this I think mayMaybe January. She said prayer worked also. She is cool people.
Just mesns she retained everything. She must have some great protective techniques.
Not bragging but I took the big chop about 2 months ago, and I can already pull it up in a beautiful puff, hair grows like grass naturally, sorry ladies I guess I am bragging
My point is ,its possible
thats alot of hair, i cant deal with my own hair and its only 14 in long
It’s average but it’s very hard to retain length with 4c hair so it’s quite an accomplishment.
This is our 2015 hair challenge Iris Hunter lol
Yep… it sure is…lol!
dread heads can do that
