Do You Take Your Bonnet Off For Your Man? – 4 Ways To Deal With Bonnet Issues

satin-bonnet-MEMEYou’ve been wrapping your hair up for years. Your momma wrapped you and your sister’s hair, your grandmama wrapped up your momma’s hair, and many, many women before that in your family have been wrapping their hair.

Wrapping your hair up at night is literally “tradition”. Whether you use a bonnet, scarf, or satin pillow case, you have been wrapping your hair up every night to keep your hair intact and healthy.

I would even see a few memes of women with their scarves and bonnets on, saying that they don’t play about their hair when it comes to sleeping. There is this one meme with a woman in her bonnet saying, “If you haven’t seen her in one of these [bonnet] y’all ain’t real yet!” I wonder, is that true?

Your man may not understand why you continue to wear your scarf to bed or wear your bonnet around the house as soon as you get home.

He definitely wants you to succeed at your goals with your hair as he is your cheerleader in your corner. But! What about at night when your man is feeling some lovemaking is about to happen or that he just wants to spend time with you by playing board games and cards, would you take your scarf off for him?

You may think it is silly for me to ask this question or for you to keep your scarf on if your man says “please take it off for me,” but some women do not give in to that notion.

Instead of thinking, “It’s my hair and I do what I please,” or “he’s just gonna have to love me in my scarf or leave me, deuces!” Try these tips to do a little “give and take” when it comes to the love for your bonnet and the love for your man:

Just take it off when it’s just you two at home

You don’t have to go straight for the bonnet after work. If you have an out style, do a cute bun or a pineapple to keep your hair up, but sexy. Your man may love that style and your hair is out of the way and no manipulation is involved.

I won’t go to Walmart in it but I sleep in my head scarf. He likes seeing my hair pretty so he has to deal. I don’t think the average dude cares though lol

  2. Yaya

Of course! But he doesn’t care either way. I still do it for him

When my now husband came to my home the 2nd time i wore my head wrap and robe, 11 years later with 3 years married he still doesn’t mind

Heck no my husband and I been married 4 years and together almost 8. He always thought it was cute actually so no biggie in my house.

I don’t like em… But I’m pretty sure I look like Samuel L Jackson on Unbreakable when I wake up and don’t wear it. It would be the lesser of two evils.

    Ok. I’m just going to lay this out;

You want some ass? You better get used to the scarf.

Stop being so self conscious and just give up some pussy! That’s all they want in the end. Trying to make it too complicated! Like “Oh what will he think of my Bonnet? Let me wrap myself in cellophane! I know what he want! 24 Inch Long hair like the chick from Coming to America!” Yeah! That’s what I’ll do!” Ladies, we gotta get past this! Stop doing the most and love yourself. If he don’t love you, I promise you boo, there’s one out there who does!

How is this even an issue? Back in the day, women would go to bed with rollers in their hair and the husband wouldn’t say anything. But then again that was also back when men took women on actual dates….

  9. Olivia C. Jenkins

I just asked my BF he’s like “Olivia I don’t care about that s**t, you know I like your hair” and went back to watching his movie. Lol. I only wear it when I sleep or have rollers in my hair. So in other words. He don’t care

I don’t like the way I look in it so I take it off for relations. He couldn’t care less. My bonnet just doesn’t go with my lingerie. It kills my sexy.

  11. Melissa Juanita

Nope! He still wants some while i am wearing it. Lol I’m the one that doesn’t like to wear it around him.

No no no and no! a girl got to do what a girl got to do….. if he dont know, he better get to know. The bonnet stays 🙂 lol

They need to get a life , you got to deal with their missing teeth and hair lines but they can’t deal with a bonnet or scarf they can miss me with that my ex let me wear my scarf and bonnet , if I didn’t have it on he’d tell me to put it on so whoever has this problem reevaluate who you’re dating
