Tamar Braxton Shows Off Her Own Hair And Edges On Instagram

Tamar Braxton shows off her real hair and edges

Tamar has been hard at work these days, so we aren’t surprised that she might need a bit of chill time. She took to Instagram early this week posting a picture of herself without makeup, weave or wig. Tamar made a point to thank Simplicity Hair Oil for her present edge situation and the current health of her hair which she captioned as:

ALL mine #donthateu2cancomebackfromedgedeath2

That hashtag is pretty funny but very telling because many of us have the same issue and it can seem almost impossible to correct. The truth is your edges are very fragile, they are very sensitive to excessive pulling and stress.

Stress isn’t the only cause of thinning edges, it can also be hereditary which can make it very difficult to control but again not impossible. Here are a few tips:

►Wear styles that are not stressful on your edges, this can include loose buns, braids or twists

►Stimulate your hair follicles often with temple massages using oils that are geared towards increasing blood flow

►Eliminate any kind of bacterial or scalp issues by using products that kill germs and bacteria

There are a few things you can add to your regimen to help with edge growth, rosemary oil and peppermint oil are great for increasing blood flow and stimulating the hair follicles.

They require carrier oils though so you can add them to coconut oil or castor oil which are also awesome for hair growth, removing fungus and over all hair and scalp health. A couple other things that you can add to your regimen, include aloe vera juice and or gel, vitamin E and Miconazole Nitrate often found in yeast infection creams.

If you want to make your own super oil, just use all oils I mentioned mix and use a little everyday, massaging your hairline and scalp stimulating your hair follicles, creating increased blood flow eliminating dryness.

You can also choose to get a product that is sold commercially like Tamar mentioned in her Instagram post. The only thing we would advise is to check the ingredients thoroughly to ensure that you have what you need, no point in spending a ton of money for a bunch of fluff.

Malika Coates

It’s the glue!

Malika Coates

I guess everyone is different,Being a stylist.I see a lot of this. What kind of glue do you use?So I can reference people to it.

Chelle So Grown

Her edges are thin af

Jamjamj Davis

and she still has more hair and edges than a lot of women who have never worn a weave or wig in their life.

Tish Taylor

Her edges could be thin from post pregnancy. This happened to me after I had my son. They were slick. But they grew back just fine!

Christy Anderson- Mapp

Yolanda Brownsugar Wilson

She has no edges, need to stop wearing that weave.

Myisha Barnhill

Hey Tay Tay!

Theresa Bradford

Not a good move its thin and not enough to win…that arguement

Artra Veal

That’s a good thing.. Too many women take better care of their weave or wig than they do their own hair. Go Tamar!!!!!!!!!

Deelishus Goodaz Brooklyn Maraj

No edges

Sondra Rudd

EVERYONE DONT ALWAYS HAVE THICK EDGES…SOMETIMES THEY ARE JUST THIN NATURALLY…

Toy Jaynell

I mean I know she has someone doing her hair, they may need to put some treatments in it

Venesha Sessions

The post is about her working on her edges . Why doesn’t someone read the article before making a lot if negative statements !

Tamisha Rantila

Jamaican black castor oil and hairfinity

Kierei Broadus

Pulling her hair in a bun isn’t going to help her edges. So I want to know how she’s trying to take the steps to grow them…

Lilly
Lilly

Well, at least she is trying to address the issue. So many witchey comments.

Patrice Mac

I think it’s an after and before picture.

Terry Norman

Glue doesn’t grow edges dummy

Nikki G

Go Tamar. “Edge death…..” Lol.

Angela Williams

Considering that Tamar has made some unflattering comments about Natural hair in the past, I’m gonna give her PROP’s for ditching the weave to care for her edges….You can do it, Tamar!!

Cali Princessnish

Hairfinity! ! Its the truth!!

Ashley LovesMalachi Watkins

I wear hair glue all the time and my edges are full I use conditioner to remove it never had any hair loss some people just have weak hair.

Lyndsay Johnson

Geraldine Anneni

Shantelle Compton

It seems like all the sisters hair are thin. But I luv them to death on tv. And tamar cd is so nice!

Sharon Williams-Lester

So tell me more about this hair infinity

Nita Beckles

She did this to make a point. Her intentions are clearly stated yet we are denigrating her efforts. Women need to encourage and not disparage each other.

Jamie Elaine Reed-Anderson

I really don’t care!!

Sharmane Smith

First off she does have edges. Her hair is in a ponytail. You can clearly see she has thin hair.

That’s Tamar without makeup again? I thought she said she had vitiligo and that’s why she wore so much foundation. I have two cousins who have this skin condition. This is the third pic where she is without makeup. She doesn’t look like a person with vitiligo.

I don’t understand why so many of us continue to have this problem when we know what is mostly causing it. our hairstyles. I don’t wear weave. wigs or braids but I love puffs, buns and headbands. I notice my edges getting stressed and I scaled back on those styles and starting oil massages. I still wear the styles just not as often. My edges are thick. It’s not like we are not educated on this so why do we continue to do it. If I was Tamar and I’m trying to regrow my edges I would not wear my hair pulled back like that.

Sharonda LadyLuck

Omg!

Lindt Struggle

She’s ugly.

Beverley Hutchins Jordan

Sweetheart, take care of this ASAP!

Cynthia Jimenez

Shes nnot ugly, her attitude, cockiness, selfishness makes her ugly

Rhonda Hendy

There is a difference between cockiness and confidence. She is cocky. Which makes her unattractive. So much so, I can’t watch anything is on.

Cynthia Jimenez

Sad for some, how fame goes through their heads

Rado Ofil

LIES, SHE IS DOING JUST FINE.

Debra L. Smith-Stevenson

Screw those edges, that kitchen needs some attention ⚠!

Vanessa Davis

Yaaaaaassssss!

Linda Jay Jackson

OMG I’m crying!

ShaRhonda Antionette

#Mean… (her nape looks baby fine, not much to be done aside from a bit of grease and water, but she doesn’t look bad)…

Sharmane Smith

The back of her hair is curly… It’s just not slicked down and her edges are very much there.

Theresa Marie Bryant

I think she just wears too much make up and can be a little over the top but I like her

Toy Jaynell

Her edges went on vacation, but she does have a nasty attitude

Sara Elizabeth Anna

She looks amazing with her natural hair

Camella Rose Jones

She said she lost her edges due to having a baby I can relate because I have a healthy head of hair and experienced postpartum shedding I’ve never had an issue with my edges I took biotin and they grew back but i also asked BLACK HAIR a question about postpartum shedding and they ignored my question but yet respond to people’s negative comments on how they don’t believe a child’s hair is real. But that’s none of my business though…….

Laverne Wallace

Yes that postpartum shedding is real

Teresa Baldon-Monix

This is what’s wrong with our people we destroy each others self confidence by judging the texture of our hair. There is nothing wrong with her natural hair texture why do we need to perm the back of her hair because its not to your liking. Let’s do better

Tephanie Gray-Thomas

Naw people come for Tamar because of how she acts plus everybody has a right to their opinion! #Dontdomeangirls

Sonie Markham

Them edges are still thin

Michelle Nesbeth

The edges still look struggling.

Tameka Ladson

I really like Tamar. she is over the top tho. that’s how pisces are tho, #kmichelle

Mrz D Ellis

Like crabs in a barrel… SMH. So many negative comments! WHY? When you’re happy with your own life, you don’t try to bring down others, instead you try to uplift… Let’s do better ladies!!!
