Tamar has been hard at work these days, so we aren’t surprised that she might need a bit of chill time. She took to Instagram early this week posting a picture of herself without makeup, weave or wig. Tamar made a point to thank Simplicity Hair Oil for her present edge situation and the current health of her hair which she captioned as:

That hashtag is pretty funny but very telling because many of us have the same issue and it can seem almost impossible to correct. The truth is your edges are very fragile, they are very sensitive to excessive pulling and stress.
Stress isn’t the only cause of thinning edges, it can also be hereditary which can make it very difficult to control but again not impossible. Here are a few tips:
►Wear styles that are not stressful on your edges, this can include loose buns, braids or twists
►Stimulate your hair follicles often with temple massages using oils that are geared towards increasing blood flow
►Eliminate any kind of bacterial or scalp issues by using products that kill germs and bacteria
There are a few things you can add to your regimen to help with edge growth, rosemary oil* and peppermint oil* are great for increasing blood flow and stimulating the hair follicles.
They require carrier oils though so you can add them to coconut oil* or castor oil* which are also awesome for hair growth, removing fungus and over all hair and scalp health. A couple other things that you can add to your regimen, include aloe vera juice* and or gel, vitamin E* and Miconazole Nitrate* often found in yeast infection creams.
If you want to make your own super oil, just use all oils I mentioned mix and use a little everyday, massaging your hairline and scalp stimulating your hair follicles, creating increased blood flow eliminating dryness.
You can also choose to get a product that is sold commercially like Tamar mentioned in her Instagram post. The only thing we would advise is to check the ingredients thoroughly to ensure that you have what you need, no point in spending a ton of money for a bunch of fluff.

Her edges could be thin from post pregnancy. This happened to me after I had my son. They were slick. But they grew back just fine!

I wear hair glue all the time and my edges are full I use conditioner to remove it never had any hair loss some people just have weak hair.

That’s Tamar without makeup again? I thought she said she had vitiligo and that’s why she wore so much foundation. I have two cousins who have this skin condition. This is the third pic where she is without makeup. She doesn’t look like a person with vitiligo.
I don’t understand why so many of us continue to have this problem when we know what is mostly causing it. our hairstyles. I don’t wear weave. wigs or braids but I love puffs, buns and headbands. I notice my edges getting stressed and I scaled back on those styles and starting oil massages. I still wear the styles just not as often. My edges are thick. It’s not like we are not educated on this so why do we continue to do it. If I was Tamar and I’m trying to regrow my edges I would not wear my hair pulled back like that.

She said she lost her edges due to having a baby I can relate because I have a healthy head of hair and experienced postpartum shedding I’ve never had an issue with my edges I took biotin and they grew back but i also asked BLACK HAIR a question about postpartum shedding and they ignored my question but yet respond to people’s negative comments on how they don’t believe a child’s hair is real. But that’s none of my business though…….
