I was totally sure that the shaved side trend had died down and as one who never really ‘got it’ I was kinda glad to see the back of it. Goes to show how much I know! The trend is obviously still in full swing and the actress Jada Pinkett Smith was recently snapped at LAX airport rocking hers with blonde braids.
She had debuted the look before on the red carpet sans the braids and with her sides bleached too. Jada’s features are soft and with her oval face shape she can usually pull off any style with ease but I can’t say for sure if I like this look on her or not. It’s certainly interesting and different and she’s got to be given credit for that at least.

We have so many ways we can style our hair, I am blessed to have been able to shave it off, rock a fade, have hair past my shoulders, braids to my butt, and a brunette weave with blond highlights. It is wonderful to have a healthy head of hair as a black woman. We should be celebrating her, not bringing her down like so many crabs in a barrel.
