Ultra Defined Twist Out with Mini Twists on 4c Natural Hair

Ultra defined twist out with mini twists on 4c natural hair

Hands down the best twist out on natural hair has to be a 3 strand twist out. If you have never done three strand twists before, the technique can appear confusing, but that is only because we are used to doing two strand twists.

Once you get the technique down, you will love doing them. The thing I like the most from these twists is the fact that they last much longer without unraveling that two strand twists do with minimal product.

You can opt to wear your three strand long term before doing your twist out especially if you opt to do them as mini twists. Mini twists just means you are using small sections of the hair to do the twists so that the style lasts longer.

In the video below, you will see just what we are talking about as the stylist installs mini three strand twists in the hair of the model, and then releases them to reveal somewhat of a faux wash and go texture on 4C natural hair. The result is a perfectly defined super sexy twist out that is guaranteed to last at least another week.

3 strand twists not only allow your twists not to unravel, but give your mini twists that more longevity if you want to wear it for 4 weeks or less as a protective style.

Our tips for doing mini twists are as follows:

1. Deep condition your hair with protein before your protective style.

2. Ensure that you keep your scalp clean during your style with qtips and witch hazel.

3. Spray your twists lightly with a moisture based spray to keep your hair moisturized as time passes.

4. Deep condition your hair with protein after you are done enjoying your twist out.
