I can safely say without a doubt that curling wands(affiliate link) are the business, and to think I avoided them for a pretty long time for a variety of reasons. My reasons stemmed from not wanting to use heat to just thinking that the wands are just a rip off. After using one for a few months now, I can safely say they are worth every penny.
I know that there are healthier ways to achieve beautiful curls that the curling wand(affiliate link) provides, but this seems to be the quickest way to actually achieve them. I also did a little research on some YouTubers to see what the results were for those women who use a curling wand(affiliate link) and I was impressed. Even though most were positive results, I have also ran across some fails when using it, but I learned that it is all about technique. Without further ado, lets get into the tutorials shall we?
Check out Nikki. She used the curling wand to achieve her really defined spiral curls. She did this by stretching her hair first and holding the wand downward and wrapping her hair neatly around the wand, from top to bottom. After wanding it, she holds her curl in place to ensure that the definition stays. I dig it! This was a success!
My Natural Sistas
In this next tutorial, this lovely lady does something similar, but as you can see, her curls are not as defined as Nikki’s, because she skips the “hold the curl” she was going for a more carefree look.
Lastly, the lovely Donedo gives the curling wand a try, without the glove. Be sure to use the glove, so you do not burn yourself. Donedo uses some of the same techniques, but I thought I’d share someone with colored hair that uses the curling wand for those of you who worry about heat damage etc. The color really makes the curls POP!
Have any of you ever tried a curling wand?
