Introduce yourself and which salon if any you work with?
My Name is Iesha Jordan & I am Owner/Stylist @ Studio “I” Candy in Prairie Village Kansas.
How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you study?
I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 10+ Years. I studied at Metropolitan Advanced Technical High School & Manual Career & Technical Center.
What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?
I offer services such as: Relaxers/ Style Natural Hair/Cuts/Sewn & Quick Weaved Extensions*/Coloring/Facial Waxing. And yes! I do children’s hair also! I can’t quite pick a specialty, I love hair!
What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?
The most rewarding thing about being a hair stylist is being able to mentally influence an individual in a positive manner. Looking beautiful only manifests if you actually feel beautiful. Then, You can truly OWN it!
When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?
I attempt to make the client comfortable by thanking them for giving me the opportunity to be their stylist. I then give them the opportunity to voice what type of experience they last had, specifically asking the client what they did not like and go from there.
If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?
I would change upcoming law change that will no longer require all individuals entering into the Cosmetology field to be Licensed. This means, improper use of chemicals, poor sanitation, cleanliness, greater possibility disease spreading.
Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?
My goals as a Stylist are to excel in the cosmetology industry by learning as many aspects of it as I can. I also look forward to donating my skills & time to helping beautify the inside as well as outside!
How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?
Well, I have God to thank for the Gift and the maintenance of the gift lol. I do enjoy a challenge and will always attempt new ideas for the love of hair!
Here is a chance to sell you ‘the stylist’ and your business, tell us why we should utilize your services?
I have passion for what I do! I couldn’t imagine my life working in any other industry. I love to help people find beauty in themselves and once they find it, show them how to Werk!
