Slayed Laila!! Slayed is what you did with that twist out and I am officially inspired to try this again. I am down for a twist or braid and curl any day, and personally I tend to lean towards braids but I really liked Laila’s video because she was trying to channel one of my favorite pictures of Corrine Bailey Rae’s hair and might I say, she did it.
The question then is, how do you get the best twist out ever? Thought you would never ask, here are our tips for the
best most fabulous twist out ever!
1. Incorporate the flat twist
There is something about starting your twist pattern against your head first and then continuing to twist along the length of your hair. It stretches your hair more, it flattens your roots and pre separates your hair so that your definition is out of this world!
A great twist out has consistency throughout your hair, and one way to guarantee that each twist looks the same especially at the ends, is to incorporate flexirods or perm rods*.
Along with consistency, another cool thing about using those tools is that you can safely avoid single strand knots because you are stretching your ends by not allowing them to curl on each other forming knots.
A fabulous twist-out looks smooth and feels smooth which means you have to do your best to detangle each section of your hair so that you have no bumps in your twists or enormous knots that will just annoy you as you wear your twist out.
4. Make sure your hair is dry
We’ve all taken twist outs down before they are completely dry which can really ruin the style you are going for so be sure to leave enough time for your hair to set, overnight is preferable. There is really not much to add on that point, dry hair means great definition.
