Introduce Yourself…
Hello my name is Jasmine Pitt, I am very out going, caring, and a confident young women. And I’ve been going natural for about six months now and I’m loving it.
Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed?
Natural
What’s your story, how did you get to where you are?
I decided to go natural because during my freshman year of college “2011-12” I realized that my hair was breaking off real bad because all I did was wear it in buns, and I always used flat irons* causing heat damage and never kept it properly moisturized.
So I decided that I would try going natural during 2012 but that didn’t work out so well because I didn’t know exactly how to stat my natural process as well as what products to use.
During the year of 2013 I made a new years resolution to do research on going natural and to start my journey especially since I am a student athlete and figured this would be the best time to do so. In September 2013 I began my natural journey and now I’m learning to love my hair just the way it is.
What is your typical weekly regimen?
My typical weekly regimen consist of a shampooing, conditioning and deep conditioning* with my Jamaican black castor oil hair shampoo and conditioner and deep conditioner treatment.
After washing and deep conditioning* I dry my hair with a warm towel and comb my hair with a wide tooth comb* and add in my Jamaican black castor oil hair food balm from root to the ends of my hair.
After that I plait my hair in four braids and let it continue to air dry. I’ve come to learn that this process really works really well with my hair. especially since my hair usually sucks up anything else I apply to it.
Are you happy with your progress so far?
Very happy. My hair is growing fast.
What’s your signature style?
Updo’s with perm rods*, tight curls.
How do you ensure that your ends are protected from the elements and your hands?
I keep my ends clipped as well as keep my hair braided up and out of the way.
Do you have a goal length or are you more concerned about the health of your hair?
The health of my hair is very important to me however my goal length is the mid back.
Is there anything that you hair hates?
My hair hates head and shoulder shampoo..it dries my hair out completely and never shows the definition of my curls.
Do you have any favorite hair products?
My favorite hair products would be tresemme naturals conditioner for curl definition and Jamaican black castor oil conditioner. Because these two show off my natural curly hair as well as keep its soft and looking healthy. So if I ever want to wear a curly fro I could without it looking frizzy, and puffy.
My hair would hate Head And Shoulders shampoo too. I would never even consider it.

Nice hair story. For me, health of my hair is more important too than the growth. Have a great day!
