We all know the struggle of trying to afford our expensive upkeep for healthy hair! If it isn’t that you ran out of scalp applicators, it is that you need some more hair clips.
Not to mention the cost of extensions*, actual products, combs, brushes, styling tools, it can really start to add up. In the case of myself, I struggled with being able to give my hair the basic necessities owing to my finances. But not anymore ladies, I discovered the secret to having all the latest products. COUPONS!
How it works
So when you start to think about how you can start collecting coupons for your hair, it’s a daunting task. Where to get the coupons, for what products, where can you use them, coupon policies, but really it can be broken down into a simpler formula.
You first need to start out by making a list of all the products you usually buy, or want to buy. This includes styling products such as flat irons*, all the way down to the kitchen oil you use for your co-washes. Then, in a second column, if you find a coupon for it, write a Y for Yes.
Who has coupons?
The hair care product with the most coupons for African American hair is Shea Moisture*. Since that was a big chunk of my regimen, I was able to use it for lots of things, and get a lot of money off (because we all know they are slightly expensive).
But when it comes to other products, such as Cantu and Olive Oil*, their products usually come in season. Which means you do have to check them often, and it is a bit time consuming.
As for hair equipment such as hair clips and scalp applicators, there is a little secret to buying them with a coupon. Sites such as eBay and Amazon usually have deals and coupons seasonally as well.
If you find a really good one such as free shipping offer mixed with a really good promo code, I once got a 50$ purchase of simple hair equipment for 15$ (this was the first and probably last time for that occurrence).
This can REALLY change the way you buy hair supplies and products, but in the end, you can save up for the next install, or save up to try out that really expensive conditioner you always wanted!
Another small trick is to buy your small hair equipment from China, especially on eBay. Usually you purchase wide tooth combs and applicators around 5$ but on eBay from China, they are only around 1.50! No ocupon required, you are already hitting big savings.
