It seems trivial, I know, and it is a lot of time to invest to try and coupon for every little hair accessory, but it is REALLY worth it. If you think about it, even though coupons are a time investment, they are free.
So you get these free little papers, and buy that new flat iron* or conditioner for half off, and it can make a difference to the value of the hair products you buy.
Where do I coupon?
Your local beauty supply might not accept coupons, it depends. Mine does accept, but the best place where you know they accept coupons is online and Walmart or my chain store such as Kroger, etc.
You can subscribe to the Sunday Houston Chronicle and get huge amounts of beauty hygiene, makeup, and hair coupons. Or you can get coupons from online, either the printable coupons or the promo codes to use on online shopping bases.
Also, you can get coupons from loyalty programs to a store, and you can actually order them to start sending you coupons based on your previous buys! (I live in Texas and the stores that originate from here do that, it might depend on your region.)
The only reason I started collecting coupons was the fact that I wanted healthy hair, and I couldn’t achieve it. Homemade treatments are the best and inexpensive, but the reality is, you do need a few products off the shelf to really help your hair flourish, especially if you don’t have time to make all home made ingredients.
And I wanted the $30 conditioner and $40 butter creams, and I did not have the money to buy all these products as well as my flat iron* and rollers.
I started collecting coupons for my groceries and when I started saving almost half of my money every time I went, I wondered..can I do this for my hair products as well? And I looked up online and I didn’t save a lot the first few times.
I bought products, but I learned with each buy and eventually I started saving enough for it to be noticeable. I encourage all my friends, my lovely community on BHI, and all my family to start this odd, but effective trend.
