My name is Holliwood Elder. I’m a stylist/owner at Evrythng Holliwood Hair Studio in Winston Salem NC.

How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist and where did you study?

I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 12 years, studied at Carolina Beauty College.

What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?

I do all types of hair and ethicists…. I weave all day every day but not limited to anything.

What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?

The most rewarding thing as a stylist is to make your client happy, build a relationship with them and see them come back time after time.

When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?

I try and make them smile and try make sure their hair is EVERYTHING….

If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?

Taking styles off YouTube and products out of stores.

Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?

I see myself traveling as a platform stylist.

How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

I try and stay up on the newest trends and stay in workshops.
