The Top Ten Hair Trends And Practices We Need To Leave In 2014

db2af80723164d909f1cd4338b4c052cNew year new you right? So cliche, but still very true. Every year we try to reinvent ourselves as individuals and in the fashion industry specifically hair, change is happening as well. Recently I saw a really cute video that basically looked at the top 5 makeup trends we need to leave in 2014, for instance excessive highlighting.

Well I thought, what if we did the same thing for hair, what would be the top five hair trends that are so 2014 and that you would love to see go away?

1. Shaved sides

If you ask a guy, he would probably say he wants the fade to go away, but I don’t mind a full fade, but the one sided shaved side thing I could do without.

Cassie brought us the shaved side way back when and we are still hanging on to the trend for dear life.Β All or nothing baby, lets leave the one sided shave alone all together or at least for a while.

2. Ombre

This still looks awesome on some women, but I am so tired of seeing the typical ombre trend on every other woman I know. The typical ombre style would be blonde tips and dark roots, bleh, lets leave that in 2014.

I do not mind Ombre with a variety of colors I think we are starting to get creative with color and I wouldn’t mind keeping that creativity going, the blonde ombre is a bit boring now.

3. Bone straight hair

There is nothing wrong with a little poof, poof – gives us character. Bone straight hair might not be a 2014 thing, but I would like to see more appreciation for big hair, blow outs are everything and will remain that way for a very long time.

4. Over done styles

By over done, I mean having every single strand perfectly curled and in place. Girl let your hair live, if 2014 was the year of perfection for you, in 2015 embrace the uniqueness of your hair, let it do what it does best without a ton of product and manipulation.

Now I agree with 8 & 9 but the rest of them….. Come on now! Those are such unique and beautiful trends. I enjoy the shaved side because the different designs and uniqueness with each individual person. Clearly this whole post is opinion based and going back to number 9 I believe…..why do you care what other people do with their hair? You don’t have to wear any of these trends but still it’s their hair. To each its own.
