Blueberries, almond milk, carrots, cucumbers, coconut(affiliate link) milk. How many times have you seen a hair product with a fruit or milk written larger than life on the front to capture the attention of potential customers?
Many brands are now catching on to the fact that we are all about the freshest and healthiest ingredients for our hair, and we will not compromise on anything.
As a matter of fact, they are so in tune with what we want that they will go the extra mile and specifically state, No Parabens, No preservatives, No Petroleum all written in italics so that you know for show that this bottle you have in your hand is the best for you.
Personally, I love it, I can tell the product makers emphatically that the advertising in that manner works for me, I love to buy products that have the world milk on it because I know it will be silky, smooth and hydrating.
I have to be honest though while you might get me to pick up the product, you will not get my coins until I read the ingredient list.
Let’s be real, how many actual blueberries are actually in your jar of “antioxidant blue berry magic”? In other words, if your ingredients are not as juicy and appealing as the front of the bottle, I will put the pretty little jar back on the shelf, thanking you for making me happy for that single moment.
The point is if you are still buying products based on pretty labels and not reading the ingredient lists to see how ingredients rank then you are not doing your hair any good.
Be careful and wise about being sold by branding and not spending based on education and knowledge about what your hair likes and does.
When we are specific about what we like it forces brands to make only the best for our hair. Comment below and let me know do you get caught up in fancy packaging, or are you reading ingredients before you make your purchases?
