One of my best friends has been rocking a long straight lace front wig* lately. I love it! It’s so natural looking and fits her well.
This past weekend she went on a beach trip with a guy she has been seeing, and they stayed at his ocean front beach house.
He hasn’t seen her natural hair and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show off her beautiful fro.
To my surprise, she opted to wear her long lace front to the beach. She said he didn’t know it was wig and she wasn’t ready to switch up her style so early on in the relationship. My first response was that it is way too hot for that, but to each their own.
When she got back from her trip I asked for all of the deets. Lucky for her the wig stayed secure through jet skiing and casual play in the water and he didn’t even make her go underwater.
My next question, however, was what did she do at night? Completely serious question because if she didn’t feel comfortable “switching up her style” did she feel comfortable taking off her wig?
She responded that she left it on, secured it with more bobby pins*, and just tied a scarf around it. She said it did not leave her head the ENTIRE weekend. He didn’t touch it or question her about it.
I just thought this was interesting because I have never heard of anyone actually sleeping in a wig to continue a look.
This lead to a further discussion of at what point do you think it’s okay to snatch your wig off and throw on a bonnet. Yes, it might affect the sexiness of the night but as I stated earlier, it’s too hot for all of that!
Do you leave your wig* on when you sleep over at your guy’s house? And at what point do you feel comfortable taking it off?
