As you all know NYFW is in full swing and the #textureontherunway show has been everything from what we can see from the highlights on Instagram.
Texture on the Runway is a relatively new runway show that was created by the Texture Media Company that sought to infuse textured hair into NYFW in all its glory.
On their website Michelle Breyer, co-founder of NaturallyCurly.com, explained it best with the following:
I’ve spent a lot of time at NYC Fashion Week over the years; I’ve seen some amazing shows by some of the world’s top designers. I’ve gone backstage to watch stylists create hairstyles to send down the runway. While I’ve seen plenty of pin-straight ponytails and long curtains of sleek, shiny hair parted, I haven’t seen many curls, coils or waves.
To me, texture is one of fashion’s most beautiful accessories.
So at TextureMedia™, we decided to create our own event – right in the middle of NYC Fashion Week – to put texture center stage. At Texture on the Runway, it’s all about the hair. Rather than hairstyles play second fiddle to fashion, we’re letting texture serve as the inspiration for it.
Most of the brands we know and trust put their best face forward showcasing natural hair in its very textured state on the runway making us super proud!

Sneak peek behind the scenes as we prep our models for tonight’s #TextureOnTheRunway show! Our stylist @themariaantoinette prepped for this updo with our Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream & Grow Strong Strengthening treatment – powerful combo to keep those tresses moisturized.
Representing the brands were some of our favorite bloggers who are there to not only support the companies but slay in all of their natural glory. Check out miss Britt also known as @bwatuwant working the runway for Creme of Nature who showed up and showed out!
