Get a spray bottle and add enough of each ingredient to complete a single detangling session. Amounts largely depend on the length and thickness of your hair but a rule of thumb is to use 3 times the aloe vera juice* to the other ingredients to make your cocktail watery enough to spray . Shake the bottle to ensure emulsification of the ingredients.
In sections, spray the mixture evenly to make sure your hair is completely soaked and there is enough slip to get through each section. You might choose to do this right after a shampoo or you can do it after you condition your hair and you are ready to finger detangle and style.
If you would like to leave the cocktail in, just make sure you choose a leave in conditioner* instead of a regular conditioner.
3. Honey And Olive Oil* Stirred Not Shaken
Our cheesiness holds no bounds! If you prefer a sweet mix, nothing is better than honey and olive oil*. After your shampoo grab a half a cup of honey and heat it up a little bit in the microwave. This will prevent the release of peroxide into your hair.
Add two to three table spoons of olive oil* to the honey, and mix well. Add the warm concoction to your hair and allow it to sit for at least thirty minutes covered with a plastic cap. You can even choose to sit under a dryer or steam your hair with the mixture on. Your hair will be super soft and ready to behave. Expect an easy breezy detangling session as you rinse.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar* With A Splash Of Warm Water – A Mixer
Again not quite a cocktail but just as effective. Apple cider vinegar* with it’s ability to close hair’s cuticles always makes it on the list when it comes to detangling. After all like a fine wine it has been here way before many of our new conditioners with promises of slip and shine.
After you shampoo and condition your hair mix one table spoon of ACV with one cup of warm water, you can spray or pour it on your hair in sections and allow it to rest for a couple minutes.
Dont rush it the effects tend to creep up on you. Rinse your hair after about 5 minutes in cool water, and detangle as normal.
5. Coconut Milk Followed Up With An Oil Chaser
Coconut milk is a natural detangler. The coconut oil contained within the milk has been shown to prevent hair damage when grooming which makes this one of the best ingredients you can add to your detangling concoction.
Just add it to a spray bottle with some oil and proceed to either finger or comb detangle. Use enough coconut milk for just one session and store the rest in the fridge for your next use.You may find that it works just as well as any store bought detangler!

Can the coconut milk be left in with the oil, then both rinsed before conditioning or is this done post conditioner?

You made some decent points there. I looked on the web to find
out more about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this website.
