How to Safely Bleach Natural Hair Black to Blonde | Dyeing Short Natural Hair [Video]

 



PRODUCTS USED:

Latex Gloves (I purchased a pack with several gloves from a beauty supply store)

Shower Cap

Dye

Mixing Bowl

Application Brush

L’Oreal Quick Blue Bleach Powder

Salon Care 30 AND 40 Vol. Creme Developer

Wella Toner T18

Shimmer Lights Shampoo

Kera Care Moisturizing Conditioner for Color Treated Hair

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shampoo and Conditioner

Kinky Curly’s Knot Today Leave-in Conditioner and Curling Custard

Step 1: Mix 1 Packet L’Oreal (1 oz) with 2.5 oz Salon Care 40 Vol. Creme Developer until it becomes a paste Apply evenly throughout hair with an application brush Put shower cap on Allow bleach to process in hair for 40 mins After 40 mins, rinse bleach out thoroughly Wash hair with Shimmer Lights shampoo TWICE. During the second wash, allow shampoo to sit in hair for 3-5 mins Towel dry hair

Step 2: Mix entire bottle of Wella Toner T18 with 2.8 oz Salon Care 30 Vol. Creme Developer Apply evenly throughout towel dried hair Allow toner to process for 25-30 mins (I let it sit for approx. 26 mins) After 30 mins, rinse toner out thoroughly Wash hair with Shimmer Lights Shampoo (Or a shampoo of your choice. I used Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shampoo) Apply conditioner to your hair. I used Kera Care Moisturizing Conditioner for Color Treated Hair, put a shower cap on, and let it sit in my hair for 15 minutes while I was in the shower). Rinse with cold water. *OPTIONAL* For a wash n’ go, add Kinky Curly’s Knot Today Leave-in Conditioner to hair and then the curling custard ***IT IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS LISTED ON ALL PRODUCTS METICULOUSLY TO AVOID DAMAGING YOUR HAIR AND/OR SCALP OR OTHERWISE BOTCHING THIS BLEACHING PROCESS ENTIRELY**
