We get a ton of questions about dry hair these days and since my own hair has been abnormally dry I am inclined to think it might be something in the air.
When my hair is dry the one thing I love adding to all my DIY deep conditioners is honey! Honey naturally attracts moisture and feeds hair follicles with nutrients and antioxidants. Here are some honey based recipes you can try to help restore your hair to its naturally moisturized state.
1. Honey with Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar acts as a natural conditioner and gives your hair a lovely shine.
– 10 tsp of apple cider vinegar
– 1/4 cup of organic raw honey
Mix honey with the vinegar. Apply the mixture the same way you’d apply shampoo to moist hair, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse it all out with warm water.
2. Honey and Coconut Oil
Mix honey with the coconut oil and blend them rigorously. Apply the mixture into damp hair the same way you would apply shampoo. After 10 minutes, rinse it out with warm water.
3. Honey and Olive Oil
Mix the honey and olive oil, and warm the mixture a little if you feel it’s necessary. Apply it over your hair.
4. Honey Only
Honey alone can be enough if you use it right.
– Fresh water
– 1/4 cup of honey
Mix honey and water until the water thins out honey to the point where you can spread the mixture around your hair. Apply the mixture on your damp hair and leave it for 30 minutes. After that, rinse it out with warm water.
