I set my hair on 19 flexi rods working from back to front. I moisturized with Giovanni Direct Direct Leave-In and sealed with a mix of coconut, olive, and castor oil. I took the rods out in the morning, and bunned my hair to stretch the style and add a bit more volume.

Cute, but it looks so dry. How do prevent dry look when styling natural hair? I know I’ve done a braid out on mine, it’s hella moisturized, but appears dry.
Could be your hair type. Some people have a natural shine to their hair while some people hair that lack shine. If you have that type of hair type then there is nothing you can really do. Check out the LOIS hair typing system you can find out what type of hair strands you have.
Exactly, we tend to think that healthy hair=shine when it’s not always the case for type 4 hair ladies.
