We all know about those products and dyes that are on the shelf that are specifically geared towards covering your gray hair. Those are all great for a long term solution but what if you want something quick and easy? Here are two weird tricks you can use when you need to cover your grays in a pinch:
WEIRD TRICK # 1
Have you thought of using eye shadow to cover your gray strands? Well, using eye shadow has become quite the trend especially with most of us using it to add color to our hair. In this video, the YouTuber is wearing a wig*, and she wears her natural hair line out.
In her hair line, she has grays. She took a rat tail comb* and pulled out her hair line before applying the black eye shadow. She applied the eye shadow using a small brush then she applied the eye shadow wherever she had gray strands. Whatever hair color you have, that’s the color eye shadow you must choose to keep things looking as natural as possible.
WEIRD TRICK # 2
There is a hair coloring crayon out there that covers grays! This YouTuber used warm to hot water to apply the crayon. She advises you not to use the crayon without water or it will rip your hair out. She said this hair color crayon lasts for a few days.
She ran water on the crayon and applied the color around the perimeter of her head. Repeat the water process until every gray strand is covered. This crayon is only $3. You can find them on Ebay.
There are some other options you can use to keep grays away, Fenugreek seeds are rumored to help and the tea rinse method is another method that is being rumored to gradually dye your gray roots as well.
Either way hope you enjoyed our quick fixes!

A good number of women in my family grayed very young….and their hair is beautiful…I recently started gray locks and so many people compliment the gray….I am happy not covering it up…but I guess it is a choice.

I started greying at 23 and colored for years. Finally, the grey wouldn’t color anymore and it began to look terrible! I’m 48 now and 95% grey, with just a bit of youthful black at the nape of my neck. I, too, get soooo many compliments about having a young face with so much grey! I love it and definitely embrace it!
Lisa Kelly says
Hi Tia. My story sounds like your story. I too started graying at age 25 and did the dye thing, used what i call shoe polish, etc. to try and hide my grey. Finally I got tired because I could not keep up with the maintenance. I am now 50 and youthful and absolutely love my grey now. I can’t walk out of the house without someone complimenting me on how beautiful my hair looks. I am now going on 3 years natural and its a double transition but a journey that I fully embraced.
