Remember those old school mood rings where they would change different colors depending on your mood? Well for me, I feel like I have “mood hair”. You can typically know how I’m feeling or what’s going on with me each day by my hair style.
Here are four “moods” and how my style typically reflects them.
Mellow
If I had to choose an adjective to describe my natural state it would be mellow. I’m very chill, smooth and soft. My go to mellow hair is definitely my twist outs. It’s my signature look and my soft coils look the best in this simple style.
Professional

I work as a forensic scientist where one of the job requirements is to testify as an expert witness on the work I complete in the lab.
When I’m feeling professional and want the people hearing my testimony to focus on my diction rather than my hair, I will typically wear my hair slicked back in a bun. While I love my free coils, I do know that a fully stretch curly fro can be distracting in a courtroom.
Lazy
You will know if I’m feeling lazy if I have my hair in crown twists or a poof. These styles are typically of a result of me not twisting my hair the night before or just not being in the mood to deal with my hair in the morning before work.
Bold
Whenever I’m feeling bold you will find my hair in some sort of fancy style with a little oomph. My bold styles are curly fro hawks, styles where I take effort in flat twisting a side into some sort of nice up-do, or a full on picked out fro. Whatever the case, if I step out in a bold style I will get noticed!
What about you? Does your hair often match your emotion?
Pretty much everything matches my mood.
