Glasses: Look for frames where the lower part is curved with some weight on top as well. Centred temples are desirable. Look for a frame wider than the widest part of the face. This will soften the angular appearance of your square face. Stay away from rectangular frames.
THE OVAL FACE
An oval shape is the most balanced shape with a gently rounded hairline and is only slightly narrower at the jaw than at the temples. Most hairstyles will in fact look great on an oval face so don’t hide your features! Slicked back and even severe styles will look fabulous on you.
Hair Length: Most styles will suit you so go crazy!
Glasses: Get frames that maintain the natural balance of your face. You are open to whichever shape you like but avoid frames with low temples as they will detract from your face’s natural features and balance.
THE DIAMOND FACE
With this face shape you will find that the widest point is at the cheekbones while being equally narrow at the jaw line & forehead. The features are also very balanced so you will have many options of styles. Short styles should have weight towards the nape area to balance high cheekbones and a small chin.
Hair Length: Most lengths will suit you so don’t hide your facial features with your hair!
Glasses: Select frames that accentuate the forehead and jaw while drawing attention away from the temple. Rimless or frames with decorated tops are fine. Geometric and oval shapes will minimize the distance between your temples.
THE OBLONG FACE
This is a long slender face with the distance at various areas of the face being quite similar. You may also have a narrow chin or high forehead. What you want is to give your face the appearance of fullness. Layers will help give you the fullness you need at the sides while softening the lines of your face. Wispy bangs and off centre bangs reduce length and will look great on you.
Hair Length: Short to medium lengths will look the best. Longer lengths should be pulled back to avoid accentuating the length of your face. Avoid long lengths worn in a centre part!
Glasses: Frames with equal top to bottom width with contrasting temples are best. You certainly don’t want frames with lots of weight either at the top or bottom. Round or square frames will look good on you.
