Within the many different textures and types of hair, we all know that certain hair products work for some but not for others. What most don’t know is that this rule also happens to apply for oils as well.
While most oils will work great with your hair, there are certain ones that work more optimally based on your particular hair type. Selecting a good oil is vital for healthy hair growth and ensuring that our hair stays healthy and shining with luster. So let’s get to it!
Fine Hair
Most individuals with fine hair struggle with the fact that oils tend to weigh it down. Take olive oil* for example. It’s a great oil that offers many benefits for the hair such as moisturizing, conditioning and adding shine. However, this oil tends to be extremely heavy on the hair.
Consider mixing it with pomegranate seed oil which contains punic acid that is perfect for thinning the olive oil* by loosening it up.
Thin Hair
If you are someone who is currently battling thinning hair, try incorporating rosemary oil* into your hair routine. This oil is great for stimulating the hair follicles and promoting hair growth.
Coarse Hair
For those who have coarse hair you may want to focus on using avocado oil*. This oil is rich in Vitamins* A, D and E which helps fill into the twists and turns of curly coarse hair offering moisturizing benefits as well as protection.
Thick Hair
Thick hair is typically always thirsty for more moisture. One of the best oils* for this hair type is olive oil*. This oil works as a great hydrating moisturizing treatment and is packed with fatty acids and protein which make the hair strands more elastic and strong.
The best way to get the most out of these oils* is to do a hot oil treatment and massage it well into your hair and scalp. Are you currently using the right oil for your hair type? Let me know below!
i really wanna try the watermanshair products because my hair has gone real thin and i wanna get a more natural look
I rate my oils as light, medium or heavy. Then there are the penetrating oil and essential oils. I mix and match based on what my hair needs at the time. Penetrating oils are mostly used for pre-pooing and DC’s. I’ll use heavier oils for oil rinsing and colder weather. The medium weight oils are used for sealing in moisture in between washes and light oils are for diluting those heavier oils or used on face and body. Essentials oils are an added bonus to any of the mixtures stated above, again, depending on what my hair needs at that time.
