I know its not Wednesday but if it was, Nicole Ari Parker would be my wcw all day long. How amazing does she look on the Wendy Williams show? I watched the show twice, the first time with pure protective style envy and the second time to actually hear what Wendy was now babbling about. Wendy was so happy when Nicole admitted that she loved wigs, of course she has been natural for awhile and admitted that she was at the infamous in between stage.
We totally get Nicole’s need for wigs*, we always hear that working in show business can be stressful on your real hair so celebrities opt for wigs and weaves to save there actual strands. Do you think however that at some point work and real life kind of combines and celebrities actually grow to prefer wigs* and weaves even when they aren’t working?
Even on off days there are very few celebs that actually embrace their hair whether its relaxed or natural, they seem to take on the persona which they play when they work when it comes to hair.
Maybe it just is what it is right? After all there is nothing wrong with what they are doing but in a world where nothing seems authentic any more, will we ever get the urge to just be who we are, stripped of everything, does that feeling still feel great or are our additives our new normal and how we feel most comfortable.
All is not lost though there are still a few celebs and women in our own circles that embrace their authentic self and by authentic I don’t mean strictly natural hair even though that helps.
What do you guys think, are weaves and wigs the new normal and is that ok? Comment below we would love to hear your opinion.
This is a nice clip
Me also
I adore wigs
They have been the norm for every group for decades ( wigs)
do you and let everyone else be… I do what works for me……(braids)
no its not new, just celebs are in the media so they can talk about it, been doing it since high school not news and not new #wigs, #weave
They’re disgusting ….we all r blessed with our own natural hair learn to take care that hair….stop being lazy…stop allowing society to dictate what our beautiful hair should look like ….false images …..
I don’t care one way or the other if people like wigs or not. If you do, cool. If not, cool. I personally cannot stand fake hair whatsoever (except Marley twists every 3 years or so), so wigs aren’t my thing. My ONLY comment is that if you must wear fake hair, don’t let me see that it’s fake. Don’t go cheap and rock it for 6 months straight. Don’t let me see the net under it or the tracks. I see that every single day and it irks me something terrible.
