Razor Chic of Atlanta Salon recently posted a video of a 23-year-old black woman who has suffered major hair loss due to braids and sew-ins.
They wanted people to be aware of the hair loss and severe damage that can happen when wearing weaves non stop without taking care of your hair.
Here was the caption from the stylist:

WHERE IN THE HELL IS ALL THE REAL STYLIST THAT KNOW HAIR????
Then she posted this video:
The 23yrold was offered a free haircut as well as a really cute style that involved no added hair! What a confidence boost. We are rooting for this young lady, hopefully her hair grows back with proper care. Comment below and let us know what you think!

Beautiful but should go to a black dermatologist who really treats hair loss.

Indeed. But I am happy that this hairstylist was able to help her.
Razor chic is a blessing. I’m finding it hard to find ppl who can style natural hair in the bay area.

I saw a photo of this young ladies hair yesterday. My first thought: why would a real hair stylist continue to put weave in this lady’s hair when she sees all the damage that caused the hair to be in this condition. I am looking at the new hairstyle today and I think it is gorgeous. The new hairstylist knows hair. My suggestion: stay with her. Blessings.
These girls are so creative, that they put in their own weaves and can even make their own wigs.
Words of wisdom… Thank you so much for sharing this story and a great big thanks to the young lady who allowed her story to be told. With proper care and love her hair will grow healthy and strong. The style is beautiful.
Great job! I feel her pain. I too suffered hair loss from various weaves styles and neglecting my own natural beautiful hair. I had long, lustrous hair at one point and lost all of that when I started wearing micro braids back to back with no hair care along with the thyroid issues I now face. I’ve been going natural for 3+yrs now to grow my hair back, keeping out the chemicals, excessive tension on my edges, etc. My hair is down to my shoulders and my edges are growing back!! I make / wear wigs now until my edges are completely grown in but they’re growing …Thank God! I just started eating better (more fruits /veg, taking vitamins (biotin, vit c /d), exercising. I also use a small toothbrush to brush castor oil on my edges every night and I’ve seen a tremendous change. I also moisture my hair daily. Mane / tail is wonderful leave-in conditioner for in between styles. It has made my hair so thick where I once was thinning. Keep hope alive my sista…I did! Pray and ask God to guide you on how to grow your hair back… I did. And don’t forget to love your beautiful hair underneath! Be blessed …You guys did a great job!

I need help with my hair. It is thinning so bad. I have always had fine thin hair but since i got older it really got thin. I don’t do weaves, sew ins or anything to my hair. I just keep it braided and wear a wig, which. I am very tired of. Please can someone help me make my hair beautiful again. It lower my self esteem., and dont feel good about myself. Don’t have a lot of money but…need someone to help and educate me on fixing my problem. I do like weaves and sew ins and other styles. CAN ANYONE HELP…..
