When I first heard about this new “hair line” I immediately put them in the “team tew much'” category, but reading is fundamental because honestly I kind of like the idea after reading the details.
The new pubic hair line was created by the American beauty brand Fur and was founded by sisters Emily Schubert and Laura Schubert as well as co-founder Lillian Tung. They saw a pretty gaping hole in the market and decided to fill it.
Emily Schubert a freelance makeup artist said :
“I started thinking about how women are treating their pubic area and how it’s not really in line with what’s going on right now. Fur is on the spectrum between having no hair and being unruly and unkempt.
“I feel like it’s that new wave of feminism. You care about yourself, but it’s more about you as a woman, not about men. I realised it really wasn’t that crazy.”
“I wanted it to look like timeless Chanel packaging or Yves Saint Laurent, but then I wanted there to be the shock factor when you look at it and it says ‘For pubic hair,’” Emily explains.
So far there are two product offerings and oil and a stubble cream:
The Fur Oil contains a mixture of nine natural oils(affiliate link) including jojoba(affiliate link), grape-seed, clary sage seed and tea tree(affiliate link), which is anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory. The second product, Fur Cream, is to soothe the skin after shaving or waxing. It contains olive oil(affiliate link), tea tree oil(affiliate link) and shea butter(affiliate link).
When you think about it, the idea is not too far fetched, you could go into the pharmacy and get regular oils(affiliate link) or shaving lotion not marketed for your pubic hair and rub it on your shaved area. But when you have a targeted solution you are more likely to grab it. The ladies pretty much changed the game and we kinda have to hold our glasses up to them!
Would you buy Fur?
