I don’t think she knows it yet, but Mini Marley is my new bestie, honestly this is probably one of the best flat twist outs I have seen in a long time. If you do not know what flat twists are, her demonstration will show you but its basically starting your two strand twists against your head first and then twisting down the length of each section of your hair until you get to the end.
We really took a look at this video to see if we could figure out what the magic ingredients were that made the style so amazing, and we drilled it down to two things, technique and product.
Technique
One observation we made was that she separated her hair into three large sections. Doing this is as demonstrated is pretty genius, especially if you have medium length hair. When you make those sections you guarantee that your flat twist out will appear really full with heavy bangs, which is always cute.
Another key technique is avoiding a comb to create your sections so that you do not have perfect lines that can be very difficult to get out when you finally release the twists for the twist out. Using your fingers gives your style a more organic look, without weird parts.
Product
Moisturizing the hair is probably one of the most important goals you should have when trying to accomplish any style. Moisture should be water based first, then you can add a cream for good measure and of course seal with an oil. This way of layering products is actually known as the LCO method which is just a slightly different version to the LOC method that we all know and love.
Another important thing with any style, is allowing your hair to completely dry before releasing the twists. Damp hair is the number one thing that can ruin any style where you need all your curls to look the same. The frizz from your slightly damp twists will ruin everything, making all your efforts in vain; To avoid it, make sure that you leave enough time for your hair to dry before unravelling. If the twist are still damp in the morning, make it a hat day until the following morning!

Flat twist works wonderful… What’s kind of confusing is when u undue them when u get towards the roots o always end up having to kinda pull the curls apart making it kinda fluffy.. Still trying to figure it out
