Personally, I knew that I could do twist outs, but every time I tried, they come out not looking the way I would prefer. Eventually, I decided that I didn’t like them, and chose not to do them.
That doesn’t mean that I can’t create the style; it just means I either haven’t found the right product and technique, or I’m expecting something other than what I am getting. Either way, it doesn’t mean I cannot create and wear the style, it is literally my issue, and not my hair’s.
We want to encourage you to stop putting limitations on your hair because of your perception of what is standard, and rock any style you want including the Wash and Go.
If you are type 4, you can rock a wash and go just like a 3C can rock a chunky twist out. Your hair is unique; you can create your own personal Wash and Go, so say goodbye to the flawed way of thinking, and embrace a new outlook on your hair and your mindset. We have two demonstrations that will show you just how to do it.
Wash And Go on 4C Hair with Eco Styler gel*:
Stella Muadika shares her variation of a Wash and Go on 4C hair. She does a stellar job, and gives herself amazing lift, definition and volume. She uses a comb to evenly distribute the gel throughout each section and she uses a diffuser* at the roots, and the regular dryer (not too close) to dry her hair, and give her the lift she’s looking for. She ends up with a Wash and Go that has movement, height, and life that is on point and perfect.
Donedo brings us a slightly different Wash and Go, where shaking is a major component in the process. A dryer and diffuser* is also used in her technique, but she shares two different products, and shows how they look in her hair from day 1 to day 3.
Both women have amazing looks, and we see that it’s all about the product and technique which helps them to pull off the style. You can choose to use Eco Styler Gel* to get more curl defining hold, or you can use a lighter product for that curly fro look that is so popular right now. Now, get in that shower and give the Wash and Go a chance, will ya?!

Let’s just say in theory a wash and go is whatever state your hair dries I get that. But personally I don’t enjoy the look of a wash and go on my 4c hair. So for me I won’t go that route. For others that do that’s great!

I fully understand. I hate how twistouts look on me so I steer clear of them. Whatever styles makes you happy is perfect for you!

It’s all in your head. As black women we feel we can’t. Can’t can’t can’t so its all in your head too many type 4 wash and go videos aroun for me to believe it is taboo. Why DF is there taboo anything in this movement???

Some just happen to feel funny about WNG so I was just letting them know to let it go. Thanks for sharing

The wash and go is just one style of a thousand. I agree let it go or if you want your natural curls find curlfriends and use their methods. I know I saw type 4 wash and gos first when I started watching YT.

LOL sorry about the 4e mistake jjjj but I call my hair 4? Since I have different texture 😉
