We all know that braided wigs exist. There are not too many wigs* consisting of a braided style that looks realistic, though.
Majority of the time, wig*-wearers will just create their own braided style on the wig* just by simply braiding it into a ponytail or braiding it to the side, but what about those women who desire something of a “box braids” style wig?
As time goes on, hair gurus and hair companies are getting more and more realistic with their wigs* and hair extensions*. The braided wigs we are used to seeing looks realistic from a far, but when you get close you can tell the braids are not really coming from the scalp.
Not anymore. There are actual handmade lace front wigs that are styled in box braid form and micro braids form. The wigs are made even more realistic with strands of baby hair coming out of the lace to portray ‘real’ edges.
The wigs are also made to be styled. The wig pictured was pulled up into a top bun and you can just about put the wig into almost any style and it will still look decent.
The cool thing is that these type of wigs, you can go from a bad hair day to a full head of perfectly done braids within seconds. The parted sections look super realistic as you can seen below:
The only scary thing about these wigs is the simple fact that well it is a wig. You are risking it coming off if you do not secure it on to your head.
Most wigs have straps on the inside to where you can tighten it to your head. Some have combs, too. So the big question is would you ever wear a braided wig?

I made a lace front rope twist wig. Very convenient for protecting my natural hair and save me time from doing it. Just cornrow my hair slip it on each day and boom no one even knows it’s a wig.

I’ve worn one quite a few times. It actually didn’t look like a wig while on and I hate getting my hair braided as I easily get bored and like to wash my hair once a week so having braids in for 2 weeks or more is absolute torture for me. Definitely a great way to rest the hair from daily combing.

Yep. You just have to make sure you get a good quality one. My hair is too thick & my scalp is too sensitive for actual box braids/Senegalese twists.
