My cousin recently graduated from law school and even though she is the only person from my family graduating this year, there are tons of graduations and graduation dinners we are all obligated to attend in the coming weeks. If you are a graduate, first of all huge congratulations on your achievement and if you want an idea for a great style on your day, keep reading.
Some of us might just want to rock our kinky* texture to graduation so we wanted to share some other pretty dope styles for doing just that. When you hair is naturally thick, wearing a small hat is impossible, there is no way all of our hair is going to fit into that little thing.
What women do to solve that problem is flatten the crown section as much as they can and style the rest of the hair around the hat pinning as you go along. We have a couple of examples of what we mean so sit back relax and watch the videos as these women show you how to style your hair for your graduation.
The first style is probably one of my personal favorites, it is formal, its unique and it is done by Kyss My Hair. The best part of this style is that its effortless which is what you need on that day. Around these parts it can get pretty hot during grad season so most of these styles will take that into consideration. Check out Kyss my hair’s video below:
This next video is super funny and super helpful as well. Again we notice the free form when it comes to styling your textured hair for graduation, we like the idea of just playing with your hair until something magical happens.
Finally, I actually had to do a late edit to include this video but you know when you just have to share something there was no way around. Check out one of the ladies from My Natural Sistas as she gives us a short but cute tutorial on fitting a graduation cap on our curly thick hair:
Enjoy your graduation girls!
