It does a pretty decent job at taming stray strands and withstanding moderate levels of humidity. It, however, may not protect the hair for the entire duration of the long humid summer and may not work as great for tightly curly kinky* hair.
Still, the experiences of these women could be the motivation you need to try out the product for yourself. You will never really tell for certain what the results will be for your hair texture until you try it.
