My stylist call them tree braids, her stylist call them latch braids…lol. Seems everyone has a name for them.

These look like tree braids…not sure what the difference between tree and crochet braids is, but from what I see done, tree braids look like this.
Tree braids, the hair pieces are added into the braids as you braid piece by piece. Crochet the hair is lacheted in with a hook under the cornrows.

Those are tree braids. You would see tiny knots on the cornrows if they were actually crochet braids. I’ve installed both styles before.

Which hair brand would you recommend for tree braiding?
Xpressions if you’re going for the straight look. The Bijoux brand of Xpressions hair is the best but it’s hard to find it in stores these days.
Freetress is ok if you want a wavy type style. I’ve tried using human hair but it was too slippery and shed alot. Probably bcuz it was cheap hair lol.
My friend does Crochet braids like this all the time. They are designed at the front to make them look like I guess tree braids but they aren’t.
