My name is Tione. I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am currently enrolled in a 4 year college where I am pursuing my degree in BBA in Management. In my spare time I love to write articles regarding to beauty, lifestyle and much more. I enjoy traveling, reading, writing and shopping.
Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed?
I am currently natural and plan to stay that way.
What’s your story, how did you get to where you are?
I officially started my transitioning journey in April 2015 after not being satisfied with my relaxed hair and missing the versatility of my natural hair. It did not take long for my hair to get back to its natural state as I am* 100% natural now. During this stage I would flat twist my hair or wear it in a bun.
What is your typical weekly regimen?
I would wash my hair every weekends sometimes I would cowash* using AS I AM Coconut Cowash or Loreal 6 in 1 Cleansing Balm depending on how much build-up my hair has I would use Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo.
My hair is thick and coarse, so I would mix olive oil* and conditioner and use it to wash my hair, doing this resulted in more softer and easier to managed hair.
I would do the LOC method after each wash as this helps me to retain moisture.
Are you happy with your progress so far?
I am happy with my progress as I can see results in hair growth and my hair is healthy.
What’s your signature style?
My signature styles are flat twist and high puff.
How do you ensure that your ends are protected from the elements and your hands?
I keep my ends moisturized and I am doing more finger detangle than usual.
Do you have a goal length or are you more concerned about the health of your hair?
I am more concerned with the health of my hair even though I would love to see some growth in my hair. I tried the onion juice and I saw results within a week of trying this method.
Is there anything that you hair hates?
Some products my hair definitely does not like, I get instant flakes after applying but I intend on using these products in different ways. I am still trying to get the perfect wash n’ go. I might be using too much product or my hair is not wet enough.
Do you have any favorite hair products?
