Combine the LOC method with Baggy/Greenhouse Method
The LOC Method is when you moisturize your hair by using a leave in conditioner, oil, and cream. This method is supposed to give you maximum moisture throughout the day and prevent breakage.
Contrary to popular belief, the Baggy Method and the Greenhouse Method are not the same. One requires a leave in conditioner* while they other method is done with nothing but oil and water. However, both methods require you to cover your hair with a shower cap* and silk bonnet.
Combining a portion of all three methods will give you more benefits than doing just one. By applying leave in conditioner*, oil, and cream to your hair, putting it into a protective style, and covering it with a shower cap* and silk bonnet, you are promoting growth, length retention, and dryness prevention.
This is especially useful for those with coarse or extremely dry hair during those cold winter months.
Vodka
Yes, vodka makes for a good hair rinse. No, I’m not making this stuff up. Adding no more than a tablespoon of Vodka into the water you are rinsing your hair with, or to a cheap shampoo, helps to cleanse your scalp. Naturalista Chime Edwards even includes it in her hair care regimen from time to time.
It works especially good for ridding your hair and scalp of dirt buildup and sweat that often plagues so many of us on hot days. But be careful! Like everything else, vodka in your hair should be used infrequently and in moderation to prevent drying.
Get a trim
As seasons change we all tend to want to start fresh, give our hair a great start as we adjust our regimen. What other way to accomplish this than with great ends. Get a trim! Trims reduces tangles gets rid of damage caused from wear and tear and eases manageability.
Straighten your hair if you want a nice blunt cut or you can opt to do it curl by curl throughout your whole head. Your hair will thank you.
How do you transition through the seasons!
