My name is Stephanie and I have been a licensed hair stylist for over 23 years. I am currently the owner and operator of Xclusive Changez Hair Studio located in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you study?

23 years.

What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?

Cuts, color, natural hair care, and education.

What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?

Customer contact/service, gaining new friends as well as clients, hearing clients express how happy they are with the outcome of their salon experience and lastly, customer referrals!

When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?

Explain what I am doing as I work with their hair. I always perform consultations so that I know what the clients’ needs are and what I can do to satisfy them.

If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?

To make sure that everyone who is practicing or doing hair is doing it legally! If I have to pay to renew my license then they should as well. Get educated, get licensed is my motto!!

Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?

I am almost 50 years old so I gave pretty much met all of my goals. I graduated college, I own my very own salon, and I’m blessed. That’s good enough for me.

How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

Prayer! I think about the clients who have entrusted their hair care needs to be handled by me in a professional manner.
