My name is Jamila Carrington an Island girl from Barbados who moved to New York and pursued my dream job as a certified hairstylist in Brooklyn I love what I do, it has always been my passion

I have been a certified hairstylist for only a year now at hair design Institute in New York .
What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?
I mainly specialized in all natural hair, locs, crochet & weave installments loc extensions* and all types of hair braiding.
What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?
My clients are amazed and happy with the work that I deliver.
When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?
I always try to build a relationship with my clients by talking with them gently, offering a cold beverage, listen to what look they are looking for and make sure I achieve the look they want.
If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?
Make sure they teach different techniques on braiding and weaving and anything that is in the beautician field.
Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?
To build a great amount of clientele and build my dream salon.
How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

I am a upcoming hairstylist yes however I am destined to be great. Yes money is to be made but I love each and every one of my clients and I make sure their hair is well taken care of and to always keep them coming back I give my clients free treatments for the first time with me also if they refer others to me they get $10 of they next service.
