The Cornrows in "Don't Hurt Yourself" were part of that Bada$$ persona. The girl that is ready to do some damage. These cornrows will be forever famous.
"Pray You Catch Me" - This underwater scene was amazing because of her cloud of hair. Only textured hair can do that so it was the most perfect choice for this scene!
African threading, tribal markings the hair was amazing in this scene and such a celebration of African Tradition!
Six Inch -- A sexy little bob, with center part. It was a very soft style which is quite the opposite of what it happening behind her in the video.
Another look from Six Inch, which was an ode to 'wives'. This was wedding hair for sure, a very soft updo.
"Hold Up" -- Had such a 90's flare, kids with dreads and flat tops. Beyonce wore her signature blonde loose curls that matched her dress perfectly!
During the song "Daddy Lessons" she rocked chunky twists while riding a horse. It is very Texan, very young black girl, perfect for that song!
Retro and Victorian her textured hair again drawing from history and applying it to the music.
"Reformation" -- Textured hair, natural hair, renewal this is what this shot means.
This look was one of our faves - A tribute to the Congo Mangbetu Women and their Nefertiti Crown. The hairstyle took 3 hours according to Beyonce's stylist.
ca. 1960s, Democratic Republic of the Congo --- Some women of the Mangbetu tribe who have elongated heads; their skulls were lengthened by tight cord when they were infants. | Location: Near Stanleyville, Belgian Congo. --- Image by © Otto Lang/CORBIS
