Items Used To Achieve This Hairstyle
Gel- In the video, Toyaboo Tresses uses Eco Styler* Olive Oil* Gel but you can use any gel that you prefer
Hair Spritz – In the video, Toyaboo Tresses uses plain ole’ H2O but you can use any spritz that you prefer. Heck, add some rose water if you are feeling fancy
Soft Bristle Brush- To smooth down the hair and edges into a nice ponytail to prepare the hair for twisting.
Oil– You can use any oil that you prefer. It should help in adding a bit more shine to the hair and take away any potential dullness from the gel.
Hair Elastics or Headband*– To hold the twist bun in place.
Hair Bow– To add a bit of umph to your hairstyle. Not too keen on bows? You can use flowers, pendants, etc.
Pins– To pin up twists and customize your updo even more.
Length Needed To Achieve This Style
This style works best on hair that is medium length and longer. If you have shorter hair, you can definitely make this style work for you by adding in hair extensions* such as Marley or Cuban twist hair.
This style is done on stretched hair which you can achieve through many stretching methods such as banding, twists, bantu knots, etc. Those with transitioning can easily rock this style as well. Check out Toyaboo Tresses as she show us how she achieves her Side updo with a Bow!
